The half-time break in this year’s AFL Grand Final will stretch to 27 minutes, the longest in the league’s history.

Although the game itself will be the shortest ever with 16 minute quarters, the long break has been extended from 25 minutes to 27.

It enables the AFL to hold a half-time music extravaganza, which will involve Brisbane band Sheppard.

The band’s biggest hit Geronimo will be part of the historic half-time set list.

Insiders at the AFL are excited about the lighting possibilities a night event brings.

Even my daughter hadn't heard of one of them!
I thought Cub Sport might have something to do with Carlton United Breweries or someone had mispelt a special edition Commodore but apparantley I was wrong on both thoughts.

Certainly won't mean as much as winning one at the MCG... But it will be a nice consolation prize for a tough year
