PAFC lovely summary.
To think on paper we have a similar line up to Tasmania and they won a p/cup.

All this side MIGHT have needed was an early outright win, but some laxidasical
captaining MIGHT have impeded the progress of the team.

Question I ask PAFC is how can the arguably the best captain in the land become
so bad in one season of cricket :?:

He was so poor at times [unlike him] that I have thought on a few occasions
he MIGHT have been under instructions from elsewhere within the camp.

I have prob been his most vocal critic
Only because I know he is capable of much much better.
Everyone is entitled to a poor year
His previous decade should have been considered.

So many issues going on with this one but this is merely my opinion. They cannot possibly name N. Adcock as captain, how can someone who is no more than a fringe player at this stage be captain of the side? Unfortunately the only person in the squad besides D. Lehmann who is a certainty to play game one next year would be J. Gillspie (barring injury of course) what are everybody else's thoughts on Dizz as a possible captain? He strikes me as being one of the few genuine leaders at the Redbacks right now and the team is screaming out for leadership on and off the field.

However just something to think about....if Adcock is named captain how do you think he'll feel with Lehmann still in the dressingroom? I can't see how anybody captaining the side next year will feel as though they're able to put their own stamp on the side with Lehmann still there, he's such a huge personality that I would think all the younger players will still naturally gravitate towards him anyway, putting the captain in an untenable position. As much as I don't want to even think about saying this, given that he is still clearly our best batsmen, would the incoming captain secretly prefer if D. Lehmann wasn't in the side next year? At least then he would be able to do things his way, rather than captain by committee.

Nathan Adcock was the ONLY Redback's squad member who achieved their pre-season goals and they aint flushed for other options for captain. The SACA seemed to like his leadership of the 2nd XI side and obviously that with the powers that be would be a massive tick in one of their boxes

Adcock is still only a fringe player at this stage, pretty well everybody in the squad has shown glimpses of being good cricketers for half a season or so which makes the Redbacks constant failures all the more disapointing, and I can't see any of the younger players being comfortable telling Lehmann what to do in the field.
