On Friday 7th October the Brahma Lodge Sports Club Committee suspended Mr Mark Podzuweit from the Club for a period of 24 months for actions unbecoming a member of the Club. Mr Podzuweit has admitted that on several occasions he has without authorisation misappropriated Club funds.
The Club has lost trust in Mr Podzuweit and this type of behaviour can and will not be tolerated.
Mr Podzuweit will also be unavailable to play for or coach the Club in any capacity and in any sport during the 24 month suspension.
The Committee has taken this decision as it deems it to be in the best interests of the Club and all members.

It is, do a knee, can't afford insurance, 6 months out of work and pay for your own rehab. You can't blame average Joe anymore.

It's ok for some, I know of many family men that struggle to be able to budget for that or get it past the fun police.
So for the average player he's up for $200 approx for rego, $2080 insurance, $150 boots, $50 home and away shorts, $15 socks, has to go to the club twice a week so he doesn't get bagged for not supporting 20 x $70.
Close to $4000 to play each year, you can understand why some seek some compensation. Never really bothered me as I just factored in that I played footy in winter and cricket in summer and loved it, the injuries along the way were just part of the deal.
