Microwaves are not dangerous so long as their shielding is OK and the doors close properly to prevent leakage. The Sleeping Giant wrote:Life is short Psyber, and I'm here for a good time. The issues you have raised are all first world problems, and none of them will keep me up at night.
The most baffling thing about all this is why you have a microwave if they are so dangerous?
P. S. You really should watch the south park episode on medical cannabis.
However, the adequacy of shielding may vary depending on who makes them and whether they skimp on it.
So I buy known brands and I don't stand close to them while they are running, just in case.
I only introduced here something about brain activity that had nothing to do with fields, and someone else added in the electromagnetic field related issues.
Somebody else chucked in Microwaves too, while trying to present me as a Luddite and thus disparage the medical research I posted about.
I simply responded to those comments.
What we are seeing here is a pattern of using side issues to obscure and diminish the issue I raised by certain people who don't like their habits disturbed by reality.

Disturbed by reality? You swan around with conservative politicians. Live in the eastern suburbs and buy Porches. That ain't reality my friend.

Way off topic now, but is it correct that Australia has no set safety standards for radiation leakage from microwave ovens?

Been playing Football Manager 2012 on my laptop during lunch. Was at Peterborough in League 1 and lost the promotion cup game, so cracked the shits, quit Peterborough and got a job at Melbourne Victory...THEN looked at the squad....no defenders...shoulda stayed at Peterborough.
This would have to be the best sports management sim ever made.

Is it an Acer, coz my old one did that.
I kinda ran Peterborough into the ground financially, due to high wages, so they gave me a transfer budget of $0 and expected me to get another promotion playoff result. Currently in the July 2013 offseason with Victory and having trouble looking for players from anywhere besides Australia and Brazil.
The transfer centre search for "all defenders" brings up eff all, and the only english players that come up are the crap ones playing amateurs in Australia. Is there a way around this without going through squad lists manually?
Also, I tried to get Dario to Peterborough and couldnt get a work permit for him. I tried about 4 times. Since hes Australian i thought it would almost be automatic.

To think you would be anything but ridiculed is weird and irrational.
Don't turn up to a party uninvited and tell people the music is crap. They'll get stuck into you.

I posted a legitimate, and data supported, medical warning, hoping it would enable people to use their judgement.smac wrote:To think you would be anything but ridiculed is weird and irrational.

I didn't say playing games was crap - I just warned about the risks with doing it to excess.
Clearly I was too late - I give up now.

No, clearly you don't understand human behaviour. You've entered a thread on gaming and dropped a pile of information that you thought we should be interested in and became offended/disappointed/some other female emotion when we weren't.
Stop playing the victim card because very few here actually fall for it (and many have wives/girlfriends who cover off this part of our lives).

Sorry if I offended you Psyber. I did try and take a humorous response, but I see now you are very serious about this issue.
As I am a huge fan of videw games, can you recommend something I would enjoy? I am currently playing minecraft, and even though it is one of the least violent games I have ever played, it's community is full of the weirdest gamers I have ever encountered. I am considering buying Battlefield 3 on the xbox, and although it is violent, to win online does involve a considerable amount of teamwork and strategy (using your brain).
P. S. Don't suggest reading a book or sport as I have just finished 2 books and play golf and go fishing as often as my working life allows.
