Think S hanson asst coach @ hamley, so from what i've heard N & d Flynn (nath big $$) Thach hands & bubner going too.
Clutton & Schaps going to kilburn with Kym Kileen, Then Lynch Wood Cirroco Skelton Cummins Cavell Marston Maybe more to Ingle Farm & i think have They'll C & T Young & KAzza heading there as well.. With the guys going to IF they're all getting paid $100 per game, but may have trouble with points system?
Unless they're just B-Graders from Para Hills.
good point but i assumed the names were listed because they are A grade..
2 x flynns,thach,clutton.schapel a graders, but the rest all b /c graders
Lynch,Wood, Skelton & Marston all played A grade games last year.. Points there

Have heard something about UFC changing to Mercedes OC.
Also changing colours and gurnseys!
Heard this from a mate who said he was leaving the club for this reason!!
I hear the Unley Mercedes Jets is a done deal. Is this a case of a club selling it's soul for the purpose of a supply of 0 point players?
There is an affiliation between the Unley Jets and Mercedes OS and we will be playing under the name 'Unley Mercedes Jets' for 2012. It is not a full blown merger, this may or may not eventuate in the future. In 2012 we will be playing under the same guernseys, with the small inclusion of a badge acknowledging Mercedes.
This has come about as a significant portion of Unley's playing group are ex-Mercedes, Mercedes were looking to provide an official outlet for its old scholars and the Unley Jets see it as an opportunity to expand and strengthen the club on and off the ground.
There is no change to the junior structure which will remain as the 'Unley Jets' and both the juniors and seniors will continue to operate as one united club.
This move is not taken lightly and has come about after a long negotiation process.
its either a merger or its not..so your doing it for 1 year and then going back?..please..
interested to know names of current A graders who are ex mercedes..genuine question..thanks
fwiw i thought unley was standing on its own very well..just saying..
To say its either a merger or not isn't correct in this case.
In rnd 18 we had 6 ex-Mercedes players, I guess thats probably standard for the season.
This decision has been made with the view of opportunity, rather than necessity. But I agree with Catch, it does put a lot of pressure on the club this season, but maybe thats what we need.

RSR, why are you still going on about this. They signed with us in Sept., get over it. Points situation is our prob and we're 2 grades below you. What is your problem. We will be under 10 points every game, end of storey

Probably fair to call it a merger, but there is a bit more to it than that. If all goes to plan like we very much hope and trust it will, it will be for the long term.
The issue you raised regarding the juniors was my number 1 concern with the whole thing. However, the juniors will remain untouched and neither party desires any change to this structure in the future. The juniors and seniors remain united, under the same club committee and with the same outlook for the Jets in the future.

Re: SAAFL Division 4 & D4R (2012)
I think the only worry about this Merger is the strength of footy at Mercedes.
Whilst i think throughout the school they are getting better most of the year levels are still pretty useless.
That would be my worry because they will turn away players/kids if they don't or haven't gone to the schoool.

re: juniors, keeping the unley jets moniker and not adopting the mercedes part as the seniors have..would it have to anything to do with the MSJFL not allowing colleges to enter junior teams in its league?..think pulteney..for me it was a very silly move to say no..if clubs want to come into a fading league why would they stop that..no doubt kids playing at MC will be encouraged to play juniors at unley..thats a given..seems pedantic..

Agree, they are improving, but aren't a strong football school.
We intend to still be very much a community club and really want to retain our stream of players from the juniors who along with Mercedes predominately come from Unley High and Concordia. Its really frustrating for us, but we tend to lose a lot of our juniors back to their colleges so I don't think the Mercedes element will effect that side of it too much.
But yeah, we still regard ourselves as definately a community club where all are welcome.

....Pulteney are in the MSJFL, but did not field teams in 2011 and have nominated teams for the first time 2012.

huh? not the story i was told..and it was from the right horse..and i am on the MSJFL site and there is no mention of pulteney at all: http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page ... 814-0-0-0#
why would they have entered the MSJFL and put no teams in???? and if they have nominated for 2012 is that a confirmation they will play or is that to be decided by the MSJFL?

Re: SAAFL Division 4 & D4R (2012)
Yes, MOSA created the MOSFC to participate in the merger.
Pulteney were accepted into the MSJFL prior to the 2011 season. They did not field teams as they needed more time to find numbers.
I have been out of the loop lately, but this was the position at the conclusion of the season. If they have withdrawn their affiliation with the MSJFL that is news to me.
Whether they field teams or not is up to them, the plan was for them to field 2 sides in 2012.

Re: SAAFL Division 4 & D4R (2012)
Zed, Pulteney have dropped the OS part of their name since about 2009 I reckon. They made this move as to attract new players to the club as they can not rely on the school to provide them players any more.
Accepted into the MSJFL last year but decided not to field any teams preferring to build up their numbers through the club's Auskick program
They did hold a registration day prior to last season beginning but obviously the numbers were not what they were expecting.

Heater: only a 4 y/o doesn't know who pulteney is even with the OS dropped, what suburb is that?
MSJFL has auskick I thought? Anyway if you read back I was in favour of it and expected you to have teams in 2011, I was told a different story so thanks for your perspective..
I checked under"club contacts" Jetters but nice catch..didn't see that there before, strange..

Maybe they should petition the SANFL to force South Adelaide to change their name to Noarlunga Centre and then they can have South Adelaide
Well they have had more premierships than the Panthers in the last 50 years
