I hadn't heard that they were close friends, only that they previously worked at the same law firm.

I don't think Bradman & Ponting were ever really that close ;)

I might've misread this at the time sounds like Weatherill & Mark Butler are still good friends (make sense both being from the Labor Left):

Premier Jay Weatherill met Mr Butler when they both worked at lawyers Duncan Hannon - along with Isobel Redmond and Patrick Conlon - and they stay in regular contact.

Despite their busy schedules and juggling family life the friends still catch up for the occasional drink at the Alberton Hotel.

Will Goodings? I assume he's Graeme Goodings son?

A year or so ago my mother told me about some radio host either filling in for Bob Francis or on after him that the guy was Graeme Goodings' son and so staunchly right-wing, if him he's found his home.

I"m pretty sure he is.

I would hope he'd have a bit more substance about him than his father.

I don't know about since they became leaders of their respective parties but before that they used to catch up for a weekly drink.

Dan long German name will also rise in stocks after this.
This is a good chance for Redmond to try and gain some solidarity by promoting and pushing the new breed Libs forward.
The name looks more Dutch than German to me, but I haven't researched him.

Party unity, eh?
At least its democratic unlike the labor party where some union official holds all the power and can walk in and tap a Premier on the shoulder.
And then we get all the really great ministers because they went to the right union even though half of them have trouble stringing a sentence together.
That made me think of Don Banfield was Minister Of Health because there had to be a Minister from his Union.
Pleasant enough man, claimed to have been a Norwood supporter long before Don Dunstan discovered the club existed, fond of strong Brandy and Dry at lunch.

Izzy is doomed ... she wins by a solidary vote, has a bloke who was all but ready to knife her as a deputy, then the day after the vote is reported as stating that nothing much needs to change and she hasn't thought any further about policy.

WTF???

Keep this up and Liberals will agin snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

She seems a nice enough person but probably shouldn't be in politics.

Well at least we didn't get the result the ALP wanted - MHS as opposition leader.
They are confident his manner would help them turn some swinging voters at least back to the ALP.

I still think Isobel is right to save the campaign until the election is called.
That's why I was concerned about her public service gaffe recently.

Apropos friendship in politics: it is always secondary to the pursuit of power.
