OTC I think it might be 4 yrs..Pretty sure they won the div 2 premiership in Dusty's second yr. Paney got them to the div 3 GF and promotion to div 2 the yr before and he was then replaced with Dusty. Funny how things sometimes work. Payney ended up coaching the club Dusty left...

OTC just for your thirst for kwoledge I will attempt to rattle off most of the players that have left the EPFC (for various reasons) in the past 4 yrs and I will attempt to seperate the locals and the recruits.(and by local I mean have been there 5 yrs or more and play for nothing)...Here we go....
Locals:
R.Mckee, T. Mckee, M.Hayse, , T.Lane, A.Bourke, Huetima, Cossie (capt of his new club), T. Payne, M.Paul, M.Solly, A. Harvey, A. Wallaseck, D. Walton, and of course C. Payne all to Brahama Lodge...14 that I can think of but could be a couple more to BL???? (7 or 8 played in their premiership this yr including their capt)....Feel free to add if I missed any names for those that might know?
S.Gatto, B.Gatto, T.Gatto, A.Haughy, M.Daniels, T.Packham, R. Buckfield, S.Prime to cougars..8 that come to mind but could be a couple more??? Cougars improved with this influx of players..
T.Hamilton(left then returned), R.Butler(LTR), and many others to the BL & APFL that their names has escaped me that havnt returned..And obviously amid all that, retirements of a few club legends....Have to be close to 35 to 40 locals or more in total that have moved on for various reasons.
Recruits:
A.Wilson, C.Taylor, Z.Miller, M.Robertson, R. O'laughlan, AJ, P.Dempsy, D.Miller, and many, many others (through Dusty's connection) that have come and gone in the 2yrs I havnt been directly involved so cant remember or dont know their names ...Some giving fantasitc service and some of more recent times not so which is probly why I cant remember their names!!!.

I have given you 32 names OTC and Im not kidding you when I say there are maybe 15 to 20 names left out...Anyone can help out with names feel free.

Hope this gives you some idea on why things may be a little rocky ahead for the EPFC but one things for sure they will have a crack..Alot of their games they lost this yr were'nt by big margins and alot of other clubs in their position might just have conceded defeat alot earlier in games..

Thanks for that WUF. That is huge numbers from 1 club or is that standard around SAAFL clubs. Very hard to keep stability if this is the case.

Thanks for that. Obviously have been doing it the hard way. Just curious now, what makes reading their boards different from any other club? Are these honour rolls etc or something else?

Player expectations, training dates, attendance records, club rules and yes they are very big on acknowledging their award winners, photo's take up a fair bit of wall space.

A good culture is felt the moment you walk into a footy club....If you walk in and dont get that instinctive footy feeling of "goose bumps and nerves" and a sense of "pride and history" then more than likely its not going to be a thriving environment...(not always but on most occassions).... :-? (Great premiership pic's straight after the victory show's the raw emotions and there are a few of those lining the walls also)...

Thanks for that. I will have to have a look when they are playing there and I'm going past. Do they have all that info in their club rooms or change rooms.

Scotch are on fire. Throw brewer in, another from sturt...I hear they have a couple of real good kids from school too. Most of the recruit ZERO points.

deff not the norm OTC but more out of circumstances...

Most of the losses have been to country clubs for money (as we know easier for footballers to get money from footy these days) and secondly for example most of the boys that went to Brahma Lodge and the Cougars were past their twilite yrs for div 2 A grade footy but good enough to be successful in the lower grades so went with an ex coach or to the country to greener pastures...No doubt those boys will eventually return to play b and c grades but at the moment still trying to maximise their opportunity to play A grade even if that means at other clubs....Then add your retirees and some poor recruiting in the past 2 yrs and there you have it...Their constant flow of junior players going on to play senior footy at the club will continue to give the club a good basis in blooding youngsetrs for the future..(junior program is one of the best going around as far as producing local senior footballers)...very successful U/18's past 3 yrs (most already exposed to senior footy and a handful playing in their div 2 flag and U18 flag the same yr) as well as consistant success in the other age groups from multiple U/8's all the way up...

Under Scotty they will survive and with time thrive once again...

Mate im telling you I would be shocked if they wanted to go to div 4...Could only be for one reason..Finance and I couldnt shed any light on that as im not on the committee...

And no Scotty has been dusty's right hand man along with Wilbur coaching the A grade. All three played a massive part in the Div 2 premiership..Scotty has been relied on more and more since then as his coaching talents have developed specially with the young kids.

Thats why they appointed him as Dusty's successor...natural choice and a good one for the rocky road ahead...

Relax mate my post was very far fetched ;)

Fwiw Eastern Park are doing something right to get in their position with their facilities. They'll be fine even if times are currently tough......

Ok I have done some digging and try this on for size...scotch's drive

Cahill (4 points) 2 players from Hills (3 each). Plus Brewer, Lagonik, Fox (Pt Lincoln) Kiley (back from o/seas) Giles (Sturt) and 2 from Scotch College are all zero points. 10 players-10 points

Good start for Scotch if this is the case...Get the recruiting done and leave plenty of time to implement a structure and game plan around it...Could set them up for a big yr???

Some big ins...any outs????

Would be a surprise considering he told Gepps that he would not continue next season due to work pressures despite them wanting him to continue coaching there.
