For once, I'd applaud the FFR if they adopted a natural Gallic response

Richie McCaw won the international player of the year 3 times and captained NZ to a World Cup win despite hardly being able to walk. Also captained NZ in a record amount of games which coincides with an amazing period of success that has been unrivalled.
Probably the best openside flanker of all time.
Deserves it IMHO more than most sporting recipients.

All Blacks coach Graham Henry announced today he is stepping down at the age of 65, just nine days after securing the Rugby World Cup for New Zealand.

After eight years and a world record 103 Tests in charge of the All Blacks, Henry today said in typical fashion he had "had enough". He had coached 140 tests in total, which had "taken its toll".

At a press conference at his Auckland University club he had resisted the overtures of overseas clubs and unions and would stay in New Zealand. He was in discussion with the New Zealand Rugby Union, looking at the possibility of a role mentoring other coaches at Super Rugby and provincial level.

Happy with that as we own both of those teams.
Much rather have to play them than NZ, South Africa, France, Italy, Argentina and Samoa!
