Re: Division C4 2013
If there's no bye in Div6R end of story,TTG should be in a C-Grade comp and that's it,just have 9 teams in Div6, The league are piss weak, end of rant.

They took a stance on the integrity of the promotion/relegation system so you can't call it piss weak.
In an ideal world the C/D grades have their own divisions, but it just isn't the case at the moment.

How do the new guys Merris and Horder go for Para Hills? How did they go on the weekend. Just keen to know what we are up against. I see there is another Merris. Is that a brother or?

Yep just how you would want a club coach to respond, keep doing your club proud.

So pardon my ignorance Q and talking of the integrity of promotion and relegation, how did Modbury (who fiished 7th in Div 7 last year) end up in Div 8 with 2 teams and Broadview end up going up to Div 7. I can only presume SHOC, Smithfield and Flinders Uni said they were not interested in relegation.

Relegation/promotion ends at D7.

So does it come down to nominations? What happens if a side gets flogged in 7, wants to go down but no side wants to come up?

Geez that sucks a bit. What if they are a C/D grade side? Does that affect what happens?

It's called (common sense) which the league don't have.

Well get your delegate to raise it at the next meeting as everyone knows that promotion/Relegation ends at Div 8.
The League is only governed by the teams that make up the league and all changes are voted on.
Time to relax and move onto next week,

Re: Division C4 2013
Just on the whole promotion, relegation argument.
I fully support the position of the league on this one. To call them "piss weak" for abiding by the rules and sticking to their guns is a ridiculous argument. If anything they should probably be accused of being inflexible or stubborn. They should have made SHOC go up and IF go down in 2011. I suspect IF would have made the GF instead of TTG in 2012 and guess what, we wouldnt be having this discussion.
You simply cannot take the words of clubs and let them dictate when, where and how they should play. There must be rules in place and a framework for the clubs to operate in. I do feel for TTG and the C Grades which get affected down the ranks, but ultimately i think we will see this as a bit of a catalyst for a more consistent and reliable SAAFL in general in the lower divisions.
If you make the GF, you need to understand that you're going up, no matter what, if you finish bottom two, youre going down, no matter what. This will actually help clubs understand where they are at, early on, so they can prepare for the season ahead. I understand one of the major problems at TTG was the lack of planning, the lack of communication and a lack of consolidation.... All of which would have been massively exacerbated by the uncertainty of where they were going to be playing.
