Is it wrong to want to look like this? My wife thinks so.

That's what I was thinking. This guy looks as manly as a man can be. I'm lucky enough to have roughly the same body shape.

What sort of person do I need to see to help me with meal planning? dietition, food planner or nutritious person? I need to lose more weight but have hit a plateau and I think I need some help to get me there and to give me some ideas on more varieties of food to eat.

Background, I had an incident 3-4 months ago, where I was put in hospital for a week with some heart troubles. Ended up being nothing too serious however, I have an enlarged heart suspected to be due to high blood pressure. The cardiologist that I have been seeing thinks my troubles can be solved by reducing my BP, and rather than put me on pills we agreed that I would make some changes and try and get my BP down by losing weight. We set a goal to lose 10 kilos from April til July and reassess when I see him next which happened to be today. I have lost 12kg since April which I am very happy with (plus 5kg that I lost before April due to footy training starting making a total of 17kg since Christmas), but now the Doc wants me to lose another 10kg over the next 3 months as my BP is still high. If its still high in October then I will have to go on pills, regardless of weight, however I am gonna give it the best crack that I can.

This is going to be tough as my weight the last 6 weeks has plateaued somewhat only by losing 3kg but those 3kg I have worked bloody hard to get rid of. I think I need to make some further changes, but need to speak to the appropriate type of person regarding food.

At the moment my diet is basically, oats for brekky, 3 egg omelette for lunch on 1 piece of toast, and steamed vegies with a half serve of my usual piece of meat for tea. Only drink water + one latte with no sugar a day and nothing else, no snacks either. Occasionally I might swap brekky or lunch with 2 pieces of fruit and a tub of yoghurt or have a wrap with tomato, cueys, lettuce and a bit of meat for tea. Weekends lunch and tea varies a little bit, but generally if at a pub will get a half snitty etc. Limiting myself to 3 XXXX Gold cans on weekends, so have cut grog right back. However, whilst this diet is working, I think I need more variety and I am starting to get a bit bored of the foods I am eating.

This is where my original question of who I need to see to help give me more inspiration, and more food options, recipe's etc. that are going to be good for me to help me lose another 10kg over the next 3 months. I know I can and have done some of my own research, however I always feel more comfortable talking to somebody in person, get their encouragement, backup etc.

I am not too worried regarding exercise, as I currently have footy training twice a week plus Saturdays, plus have 1 extra 5km run every Wednesday night which I am now doing in under 24 minutes so I feel my fitness is generally ok.

Sorry for the novel, just thought my question needs some context so that you can see where I am coming from and why I need to see the right person. Just not sure who that is at the moment.

Cheers for anyone that can help! :D

MC, you don't need inspiration...you are the inspiration!

I don't have much else to add, except that I find all my healthy recipes from books or the internet and change them up when I get bored. And I watch the motivational vids at Simply Shredded when I need some inspiration to smash out a gym sesh

Sounds like you have all the foundation you need to succeed independently anyway IMO.

Cheers Q.
I know I'll get there. I guess I just want that advice from someone of what to do to change up. Probably more specifically what to look out for.
I think I'll still prefer to get advice from somebody if I can, just to keep making sure that I don't leave many unturned stones.

I saw a dietician many years ago, required a referral from the GP to ensure I got some medicare benefit. Not sure if that still pays or not, but worth adding that to the conversation you are already having with your GP.

Awesome effort, BTW - there's some big numbers!

Correct, although if it's for a Concert at Etihad it's pretty good to have a bar right there and ease of getting drinks etc

What happened to all the smilie options?

Previously, I might've put that "chin-stroker smilie" under that question.
