Any chance of some good news Bloods? Can we sign a recruit or announce anything positive? Along with a stack of other clubs we were/are into Lonergan but that one may simply come down to dollars. So far we've lost a full time coach and our senior assistant/reserves coach and replaced them with a part time coach. Lost a stack of good players and not replaced them at all..,..

Spot on Brodlach. Let's hope it doesn't happen ever again. Hopefully this means the board will make people more accountable in the future.
There has to be better processes in place to ensure this won't occur again.

C'mon lift!!
Remember that we can only sign two players befroe christmas due to the sanctions. Open slather in january.
Only Sturt and South have announced signing so far, most dont do it until after the AFL drafts. We had signed Leigh Brown then he got drafted to Collingwood, would have looked a little silly if that was announced.

I partly agree with what you are saying, however there are plenty of ways around the fake recruiting bans that have been given out. We should be signing two key players from VFL or country footy pronto and then getting AFL discards into next year. Beard and Kirkwood would have been two great pre Christmas signings to show we are on the right track.
Am aware of the sensitivities surrounding this one, but would still be asking the board how certain activities were able to occur under their watch that either went unnoticed or not declared to members. (For which they may well have perfectly acceptable reasoning)
there are a number of very sensitive factors surrounding this issue... Please be very careful what you are posting and leave the resolution of this matter to the Board of the WAFC.

Getting back all or the majority of the funds missing would be a higher priority for the Club rather than have someone sitting in a prison cell with no chance of getting the funds back.
In response to the article in today’s Sunday Mail the West Adelaide Football Club wishes to make the following statement.
The Board of the West Adelaide Football Club will not be commenting on the matters raised in the article until the conclusion of a full internal review of the Club’s operations. This review has been ongoing for the majority of the 2013 season and any comments now, in the Board’s opinion would be premature. With certain sensitivities surrounding this matter the Board wishes to assure all stakeholders that it will continue to act in the Club's best interests.
At the conclusion of this internal review the Club will be making further comment.
The Board further wishes to reassure all members and supporters of the club that we have collectively worked incredibly hard to turn around the financial situation of the Club this year to ensure the viability of the Club now and into the future. While the full financial statements for the 2013 year have not yet been completed we are confident of a significant surplus for the past financial year.
