Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014
I hear they’ve been told by the authorities a repeat of 2013 Salisbury Oval (Ingle Farm/Angle Vale) won’t be accepted and some of the traditional hosts won’t be afforded liquor licenses for the day based on previous infractions.
So for those playing at home, we're short of ovals....

Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014
Without sounding like I'm just trying to stir the pot here, but what's the story behind the scenes with port districts?
I'm hearing there's a lot of crap going on, which is the main reason for their "form slump".
Anyone heard anything, or is it just rumours?

So potentially Salisbury get punished because there was an incident at their oval involving two other clubs??

Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014
Two years ago the club made an error and didn't get a temporary license to sell grog across the other side of the oval. We copped a whack from Liqour Licensing for that.
Last year we put as much in place as possible (including hiring portable toilets and extra security), and still got raked over hot coals because people successfully managed to smuggle in alcohol to the ground, potentially jeopardising our license. The massive brawl also didn't help, although our footy club had nothing to do with it. It's not a Salisbury problem, it will be a problem for all clubs potentially hosting GFs. How do you stop/police it?

Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014
I know plenty of years we checked every car that came in and we took heaps of grog off people and placed it in the clubrooms. They get smashed anyway and half the time forget to pick it up on the way out
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

We take a shitload off people every year too, but the security are, unfortunately, never able to get it all.

Isn't half the challenge of spectators looking for a huge day at the GF trying to find new ways to sneak in cans?
