hey boys, 70 goal thrashing this week, whos keen?

Understandable why they might pick and choose.......if that indeed is the reason..... At the risk of opening up this can of worms again... to forfeit your only side during a season more than once (if at all).........should be season "over"....imo.

I can see where you are coming from but I'm sure the SAAFL would like to keep as many clubs as possible afloat.

Cohiba thats a bit rough on the wingfield boys who are already in a comp already miles out of their capabilities, they should be in div C1 or C2 to have any hope of winning a game.

and now your a bit cross cos they would prefer to stay home than play in a 70 goal loss? become a player and imagine yourself out there on the field copping a flogging like this, no thanks

Last week would have been their best hope of a win wouldn't it? Very long season for Lionel and his boys. Hope it turns around next year for them. Did hear a rumour this week that the council is very keen to see them go and are have mentioned to Kilburn to take them on board.

Makes the leading goal kicker a bit unfair, Phill Dudley 37 goals against Wingfield
Scott Webber nil.

Leader board currently has
Phillip Dudley North Pines 12 games 98 goals
Scott Webber Smithfield 12 games 73 goals
Michael Gilling Houghton Districts 14 games 54 goals

Who cares if he wins the premiership that's all that matters.

I'm sure Wingfield didn't think we better forfeit to stop Webber kicking 100....

Hey I do agree nothing better than a premiership, but I also think that individual awards
should be awarded on an even basis.

excluding tomorrow dudley & webber have both played 12 games this year

dudleys side has won 7 games

webbers side has won 13, smallest winning margin 37 points, ie: thrashings every week

How do you propose they make it even?

It's not Dudley's or the SAAFL fault that Wingfield have forfeited.

I'm sure Webber would've love to kick a 100 it's a great achievement but a flag is what we play for and I'm sure when you win it he won't worry about not getting 100.

And your point is ?? Smithfield also have 3 other players on 40 to 50 goals, competition is
hot in the forward line.

I agree with you, if we do win it, but say for example you are playing cricket and comes to the
last game, you need to make 4 runs to average 100 for your career, and the opposition forfeits ???

Firstly.... why would you think I'm cross just because I was expressing an opinion....

Secondly.... I was playing in the SAAFL when you weren't even a tadpole in your old man's sack....so I don't have to really imagine anything.

My point is..... if a Club or it players anticipate a hiding......and throw in the towel before game day because it all too hard......what's to suggest that next they might decide to play only home matches instead of having to travel because their best chance of win is on it's home deck.

Whilst I don't disagree with LM about the SAAFL's strength being underpinned by having a large representation of Clubs ...... a Club that can't field one team for a season of football, will always cause disruption and controversy within the Division it is playing in. Forfeit an 'A' grade game, forfeit the season.

Marbles....I'm happy for you to tell me of any Clubs within SAAFL that you believe could survive and flourish as a viable entity playing with one team that could guarantee a full season of football. Whilst I believe C & D grade comps should be exactly that...... I am an advocate of 'merge or die' because within the Divisions there is proof of successes that would validate my viewpoint. That said, pride and obstinacy are usually the big hurdles to overcome when its the traditionalists vs the progressives.......

I can understand your empathies lay with the players at Wingfield Anglevale, Kilburn, Brahma Lodge, Flinders and Mitchell Park at the moment. But their plight is no different to that experienced by many Clubs in the past.......and must wonder which Clubs might be fighting for their existence in ten years time. Henley perhaps.........reality or consult with Dr Phil. :)

Give him the 20 goals from the 2 x 10 goal wins from forfeits. Puts him on 93 ;)
