I'm guessing that he doesn't have to take the player contracts to the CEO anymore and balancing the salary cap book is solely his responsibility now.

Re: Panthers CEO resigns
The football manager now the Manager of Football clearly gets more to do, the Chief Executive Officer - Commercial, stays out of football business.
In essence they now have two people answering to the board, one for football and one for commercial operations.
Does this mirror the model the previous CEO presented to the board in his recommendation? Hard to fathom, really.

If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Well since the CEO's duties have now been reduced I guess the previous one thought he was over qualified and couldn't personally justify the salary reduction for his skill set.

Pretty simple really, The Previous CEO told the club he was leaving, they asked him to do an evaluation of the club management structure. His findings were then acted upon.
By the look of it, his conclusion was that the football department is the core business of the club and required equal management to the Business side. At the end of the day the CEO is governed by the board and the president so is at SANFL level just a glorified administrator that really doesn't require a massive salary.

LOL, so CEOs in businesses that are reponsible to a Board (which is the norm) are just administrators who shouldn't be paid much.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Having worked at 2 SANFL clubs and personally seen 4 SANFL club CEO's in action I would disagree with the term "glorified administrator".

Yep, they are grossly underpaid for what they do.

Having worked as a sports administrator (not football) for a number of years I think the model being implemented by South for next season will have some significant difficulties.
