I was aiming to return after 8 weeks, but that might be wishful thinking. I have a lot of inflexibility where I broke the tibia that is holding me back from full range of movement.
Mostly inactivity due to the boot and also readjusting to the ATFL working at full capacity. I probably had full range of movement at 4 to 6 weeks post boot and my improvement was rapid until I went to do a single leg calf raise and my Achilles said no. I was stuck there for another 6 weeks.
Damn. I was kinda naughty and never had my moonboot on at home and was attempting to walk early on, so hopefully I don't have any inactivity issues. Just struggling with dorsi-flexion, but hopefully can bust through that plateau asap.
I was doing some googling when I had mine on and some medical journals were reporting good results after 3 weeks in a boot. Might not be such an issue.

Did you ever sleep with it on?
I slept on our huge couch for the first two weeks with my leg cradling in the back of the moonboot. Got sick of both and then slept in the bed without it after that. It's a cumbersome piece of equipment!

Ha I had my foot sticking out the side. Also didn't have the inconvenience of a missus in the same bed also. Did that for 5 weeks and didn't wear it for the final week. At the end I was managing to roll over asleep with it on
Ha, I was relegated to the single bed in the spare room for a while because I could never get comfortable. The best sleep I had in a month was the night after surgery when the nerve block was in full effect and I'd had my first dose of endone... Shit went downhill after that.

Twas a sad day when my supply of Endone ran out. First night of the boot was tough. Think every night a different position was the most comfortable
I had a knee reco when i was 21, never played footy again though I still play cricket tennis, squash etc. Even if i got fit enough to play footy again, i dont think i would trust my knee

All good mate. This year or next year was 100% going to be my last anyway and the dr said to full out playing any more time till after next season anyway
So if I was desperate to play again in 2 years i probably could I guess but would obviously have to wait and see how everything goes. But by then the kids will be along and other priorities will be taking over.

the bastardos dont know a good house when they see it
the new house that was built looks horrid to me
Can beat the both of you, The town I grew up in (well spent the first 8 eyars of my life) has been bull-dozed - Iron Baron. Wonderful little mining community 30 mins from Whyalla. Was sad when I left it, sad now thinking about what has happened to all the good spots my mates and I used to go riding in and about but happy thinking of the memories
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Went through Iron Knob last year on the way to Streaky Bay. If ever there was a place that needed bulldozing, thats it. Looked like a place from The Hill Have Eyes.

Scary driving through, even at noon.
Iron Baron is worse these days. There is nothing left! One Steel have bulldozed the lot and only the intersections of the old streets with the main road are left with huge concrete barriers blocking them off.
Similar story with me Boon too. Mum & Dad sold my childhood home to another local young couple.
Sad to hear about Joni Mitchell having a brain aneurysm and now unable to speak.
