Wouldn't have thought it was too hard.

My lad plays for Fitzroy and we had the following Friday timeslots.
7:30: Walkerville at Walkerville
6:10: Payneham at Fitzroy
6:10: Golden Grove at GG
6:10: Modbury at Fitzroy
6:10: Salisbury at Salisbury

The coach didn't even bother setting a "get to the ground" time for the 6:10 games, it was get there as soon as you can.

Mitchell Park, Yank Man and Lynchy (new nickname in Cindy) are dead set famous!

Syndicated in the Australian, The Advertiser, Fox Footy and now Fox Sports itself.

We're trying to get The Footy Show to run a segment...

Last time I went there some chick climbed the pole to spiral down it and got stuck upside down, it was a bit funny.

They're all "payments" in my book. Incentives, payments, lures, carrots whatever.

Mix in lingo yes, but the total of 'incentives' was less than $2k. As I also said we payed out less this year to win a flag than we did last year to get flogged by 40 goals and win one game. End of story. :D

I think that statement says a lot about the difference between Div6 & Div7. Good luck in 6 next year Yank Man

Yeah it's taken off a bit on social media. Would be hard to escape!

I uploaded an album to our group and had 280 notifications the next day.

Bit late but i'm sure some of the boys are still celebrating but well done to MP on the flag and again to Houghton for probably being the most consistent team all year, unlucky on the day. But probably the two toughest teams I played against all year in the A's. And the Magoos probably had the 2 best teams all year in the final.

@morell and @yankman firstly congrats, obviously the article has said that Lynchy has retired from the head coach role with Tom Roberts to take over, will he become a playing coach or did he hang up the boots after the victory? Was there any idea that Lynchy was heading that way before the game?

Cheers crabman, as I said on our group we haven't forgotten the support from the crabbies in 2014. Who knows, without you blokes we might not have survived that year and therefore in turn might not have even been able to compete this year. There will always be a beer at Moreland Avenue for anyone of the Crabs from up the road. Except for Hynchy - he kept putting me on ridiculous angles when having a shot for goal and he pinged be for a ludicrous holding the ball - only a can of coke for him.

As for Lynchy resigning and Tom taking over yeah it was sort of common knowledge for a few of us for a while. It was a difficult situation that ended pretty much perfectly really. Lynchy will remain with the club in a senior position off the field as we can really leverage his skill set. Precisely what that entails is to be worked out by the committee and Shane over the next couple of weeks/months. From my perspective I would love to see him help out Yank Man and Ken with some of the leadership/recruitment/sponsorship stuff. Plus some mentoring and coaching director type work. Tom I am not sure yet, he reckons hes retired but I reckon we could convince him of one more year.

This is fantastic and gives you an insight into Lynchy. Very calm, methodical, clear and precise. No ranting or raving or over the top hyperbole.

100% agree but at the start of the year it was more about self preservation of our great club. We understand fully what is required to make ourselves competitive in Div 6 and money will need to spent and we are already in preparation for that to happen.

Ive had a bit to do with Lynchy a few years ago. Fantastic to see him win a flag. He really deserves the accolades. Great reward for his years of hard work, and people rubbishing him around several leagues. Sad that he has given it away, but a great way to go out.

Well done to the MPFC and players as well!

I've heard North Pines are booked in for premiership tattoos.. I'm all for celebrating a flag etc. but an A grade flag in D7R hardly seems 'tattoo worthy' to me :?
