I usually only like it when another dude puts mayo on it. It would be weird if I ate my own mayo.

People who get invited to a wedding & then have the gall to ask the couple if they can bring their kids along.
If they wanted kids at their wedding, they would've been on the invitation.
(children under 12 months of age are obviously an exception, being simply too tight to organise a sitter isn't).

Agree with benny here. Try and get a sitter so you can have a nice night.

Definitely agree.
However, I went to a wedding recently where the invitation said "Sweet dreams to children under 12".
I, along with everyone else, figured that meant they could come to the 1.30pm ceremony. A week out, a row erupted because one of the guests had a 6 week old premmy baby and was told she couldn't bring it to the wedding. Next thing you know, we're all being told kids can't come to the ceremony and "that's what the invite said". Well, no, it didn't.
I'm not sure why you'd not want kids at a ceremony, but it's their wedding - just get the message right.
I did enjoy not having them around at the reception, though. ;)

I don't see what that message was meant to mean anyway!

Maybe it's just me, but that message has a rather sinister tone.

We allowed everyone to bring kids to ours as long as we knew they were coming. (to organise food, etc)

We had heaps of lawn games and stuff, dvd set up in one of the B&B rooms incase they wanted to crash out watching Disney movies. Some of the photo booth pics are hilarious.

Made our wedding a more "family" event I think.

Not one problem.

At the time of our wedding, we didn't really have many friends or family with young kids, so it wasn't an issue for us.
Plus a lot of people had to travel to ours, so it was easier, for anyone who had them, to leave the kids home.

About half of the people with kids under 5 came a fair way. Some from Pt Lincoln, some from NSW, so leaving kids in the hotel room wouldn't have been an option.

My best mate, who had a 4 month old, got his wifes parents to come and stay at the hotel and watch the baby while they enjoyed the wedding. But that was completely up to them. Mainly because his missus (Ive known them both since yr 8 ) wanted to get hammered. Which she did.

Yeah we tried to make the day about them as much as us so everyone had a good time. The idea was get the formal crap done well, but quickly, then lets have a drink and rock out to the live band.

I'd spend the money to do it all again.
