WEST
West Adelaide ruckman Ryan Willits could miss the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery ahead of Saturday’s clash with Glenelg at City Mazda Stadium.
Despite managing soreness in his hip for much of the season, the former Power bigman has opted to go under the knife which will sideline him for at least 6-8 weeks.
‘’It will be touch and go as to whether Ryan will play again this season,’’ Bloods football manager Andrew Marks said.
Willits is the only certain exclusion from the Bloods’ 23-man squad with star midfielder Travis Tuck returning from a minor knee complaint suffered at training last week.
Possible debutants Josh Ryan (key defender from Mildura) and Jack Evans (midfielder from Flagstaff Hill) have been named on the extended interchange bench but must survive the cut before the bounce.

GLENELG
Glenelg veteran Ruory Kirkby has earned a recall for Saturday’s contest against West at City Mazda Stadium.
The consistent spearhead took 13 marks and booted five goals in the Reserves last round, resulting in him being named in the forward pocket.
Fellow key forward Ziggy Vitkunas has also been added to the 23-man squad along with Bryce Woolard and former Magpie Jack Haarsma, who could play his first IGA League match for the Bays.
Former Double Blues collected 21 disposals and three goals for the Tigers’ seconds while Haarsma had 24 touches and a goal to illustrate their strong form.
Brad Merrett and Aisea Raikiwasa have been sent back to the Reserves.

I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Watching it on TV it looks like a pretty ordinary game of footy.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

One of my pet peeves there. Bloke hadn't gone anywhere and as he tries to dispose of the ball it's knocked out of his hands. Should be 25 each and every time. You can smother AFTER he disposes of it but not before. Shaping to handball or kick isn't the same as playing on.

Wow.
The worst umpiring decision I have ever seen.
Sumner runs down a west player, reminiscent of when Sammy Logan did the same thing years ago at the same venue only to be unrewarded.

Yes, agree completely. See it in every match. The player hasn't moved off his line to be called play on....just because you are shaping towards a particular disposal isn't a green light....

West 15pts at lemon time
I can see I'm not missing much by not following this league as closely as I did.
This is the most I've seen in 2yrs....

Heck, if it was Sam Mitchell would get called play on every time he takes a mark.

We are being royally screwed - twice that quarter it happened in front of goal. Three times it was last touched out of bounds by West in our forward line and not paid. Even the commentators couldn't work out why none were paid.
