Inside ball winner and outside speed. Means Wingard and Gray can stay forward if needed, or with Motlop they can rotate through the middle with Wines, Boak, Ebert, SPP, Rockliff.

Handy couple of additions.

How can you fit these blokes under the cap? both would cost $1.1m pa.

Rockcliff is on $700k at Brisbane, he might take a small hair cut to leave, but not much.

Played at least 16 games per year since 2010, I'd take that.

Not when Carlton were hunting him
he'd be on that minimum

Yeah I mentioned above Motlop is a very good get for you..... if you do get him.

Motlop adds more value than Rockliff to the Port team IMO.

I don't agree with you, I'd take Rocky any day of the week, I think Port lack the hardness around the ball at times.
Ranked 3rd in the league for contested possessions. 17th in the league for disposal efficiency.

Sorry mate, we absolutely need class and polish.

But... you can get class and polish when you have time and space, which effective contested ball winners get you. With Port its a case of throwing everything into the coal face and in turn rushing kicks and spraying them. With a better balance eg adding Rockliff AND Motlop, that will enable some of our better ball users to stay on the outside more. As Booney mentioned.

People said the same thing about Dixon's ankles. We have a very good record of getting supposedly injury prone people back on the park.

Unless he's sold on the idea of Port winning a flag.

Carlton are at about 7am, we're at about 11am.

No he isn't otherwise they will match it. He will be getting very close to $800k at Port but worth it.

So did Dixon. So did Polec when we got him.

Footballers have surgery, its par for the course. As someone else mentioned, hes played at least 16 games a year since his debut.

I’m not sure how many games you saw Brisbane play this season if any other than the Port games (I saw all plus replays and pre season ... bloody kid!), he played sore most weeks and had little influence on games.

Met him after the pre season game and seemed a decent bloke so I personally hope he goes well, he spent a fair time talking to my son about footy. Was really generous with his time

Have to love everyone guessing what players are on. Like anyone actually has any idea.

Suppose that's to be expected when you're the lone bull in the side.

Will get ample support from Wines, SPP, Ebert, Boak so he wont have to do the brunt of the work each week.

Booney wrote:If the "mail" is right it looks as though Port have secured Motlop, look like they're almost locked in with Watts and are more than hopeful of getting Rockliff. So....

Out goes : *estimated* ( average AFL wage is $302k this year )

White ( 300k )
Krakouer ( 300k )
Monfries ( 300k )
Young ( 300k )
Ah Chee ( 300k )
Trengove ( 500k )

$2m +/-

In comes :

Motlop ( 600k )
Watts ( 600k )
Rockliff ( 650k )

$1.85m +/-

6 out, 3 in and no real $$ better off unless current top enders are going into the back end of front loaded deals....

We'll show you, North Melbourne. :D

@Dutchy

Minus Watts out of the discussion, easy.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.
