Absolutely! I did warn him prior to the season when be boasted about possible 5 teams that it wasn't a smart move, and was dangerous.. coming from a club at Enfield where we fielded 6 teams the past couple of seasons, and 4-5 teams most years, understand the difficulty and challenges associated.

Think he was just eager to be successful or look like he was being successful if that makes sense - similar to his want to remain in G3 with half a G1 side, taste on field success..

Yeah, success keeps the bar ticking.

Even in failure you can have the bar ticking over well, oh the ole days on a Thursday night at the Farm, topples barmaids were the norm for a few seasons.
Then Chris Pike settled in.

Few clubs have tried that and it never ends well for those trying to promote a "family" environment.

It's fact that you will get more back in the clubhouse after a win than a loss, throw in someone making a ton or doing something special and it's on til close, a big loss and all of a sudden everyone has something on that night.

I ran a club for 12 years and seen the trends so I accommodated accordingly, I maximized our earning potential for the evening judging by the results, you'd have to sacrifice a potential early night to get the most out of the following week.

I find the biggest factors tend to be the finish time, and also travel, especially with most sides in PDCA now.

Lot of our members are based out north, and with most games now played out Elizabeth way and finishing sometimes 6:30pm, people just don't seem interested in driving past home half hour back to the club for a couple drinks and a feed, instead just head home. Also a lot of our members are getting older and are flat out wrecked by the end of a days play.

Our Indian members don't really stick around either, are pretty quiet and introverted.

Regardless of winning or losing, reckon we would still get the same crowds every Sat night at the club - occasionally a few extra for a win or a personal performance, but generally same / same.

there was always one young lad who was a teen sensation, hit seniors and always played a grade or two under his capabilities and we'd only ever see him on a Saturday evening if he done well.
On top of incentives, we always had 10 schooners for a ton or 7 fa, 5 schooner for a 50 or 5 fa.

Not sure if I missed something but what happened to NEK A's Grade 2 points for their outright win in round 1 - Ladder only shows them getting 5.66 points for the win? should be like 20 points, shouldn't it?

Lost 13.4 due to a breach with 'dual registration"?

Hmm, tough initiation.

Would have to be Tyler Grainger-Balding surely? Registered with Ingle Farm in ATCA still, but played Rd 1 with NEK?

Heard PDCA knocked back OTHs request to go down to Grade 3, but they are appealing it! What a joke. This cannot happen, it will be the end of the PDCA if they set that sort of precedent.

You'd think an appeal is pretty redundant.

judging by the Facebook page they haven't got a lot of support or sympathy from rival clubs.

Correct, what grounds would they have to appeal on?

Besides it's not all doom and gloom - as JD pointed out on FB, Salis West were 5/50 Saturday! Knock over Nitney cheap and they probably run through the rest pretty cheap and are only a small margin behind end of 1st innings

SW made 265 and Nitney made 154, Jake Sewell 66 - the rest sweet FA.

Could do worse than send Lister up to the A grade if they need bats.

Great result for the Blues but historically Virginia have been dormant in October.

Whats the PDCA etiquette for a 7th ball in an over? due to Umpires error.

Do Runs/wickets count?

Bloke gets out on 7th ball, their scorer and captain realised it after he had walked off the field and wanted him called back!

If the scorers don't interrupt in time, yes.
