Oh, I'd love to work up to running them, I get bored with running though, even at the gym I can't get on the treadmill, I'll get on the step thing or the rower and do 4 or 5 k's on that. The missus reckons I need some headphones so I can just listen to music and forget that I'm running.

Podcasts.
If you find a good one, you'll be distracted.
Need some decent earphones first, the kids swipe mine pretty much the moment I open the box with a new phone.

I'm looking at seriously hitting the gym again. Probably going to invest in a Samsung Gear Frontier watch, and some bluetooth headphones, so I can have wireless music, heart rate, gps, etc.

I find the people with the fancy heart rate monitors and all decked out in their pretty clothes do the least amount of work at the gym. They stand around talking most of the time.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

heart rate monitors can be very effective for threshold training...you'd be surprised how far away from threshold people are when they think that's where they are at

Yeah I have one and they are great. It’s more the people who wear them as a fashion statement who do nothing at the gym I was paying out on.

At Sefton, there was a guy who would lay on the couch near the front door watching his iPad. In 6 months, 4 sessions a week, I never saw him lift a thing.
