Throw in Sam Mayes as steak knives for port and I think that is a fair trade.

Fremantle, Port Adelaide and Brisbane have begun informal discussions regarding a monster three-way trade that will see Lachie Neale play for the Lions in 2019 and could impact the futures of Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb.
Although there is still plenty of detail and potentially late picks swaps to be worked out, foxfooty.com.au understands the crux of the trade will see the Power obtain Pick 4 and the Dockers receive a pair of selections in the top 10.*
Under the proposed trade, Brisbane would hand Pick 4 (which will be Pick 5 after Tom Lynch compensation) to Port Adelaide and receive Neale from Fremantle.
The Power would give up Pick 9 and 10 - the latter received from North for Jared Polec – but get Pick 4.
Although the Dockers would be forced to let Neale go, they would get Picks 9 and 10, both of which could be used as trade fodder to entice Melbourne to let Jesse Hogan return to Perth.
In total, five clubs would be involved in this trade: Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and North Melbourne.
It’s understood second and third round selections could also come into play, specifically Brisbane’s Pick 22 and Port Adelaide’s two picks in the 20s. A source close to negotiations suggested one of these selections in the 20s could make its way to the Dockers, who would offload it for Rory Lobb.

As AE said, if we are able to get a player like Mayes or a 2nd or 3rd rounder back as well then it is probably a fair trade

Package up 9 and 10 for pick 4. I don’t get that. You get one quality player instead of two

You would want to be pretty sure that your target will still be there

True.

However, if our 9 and North's 10 ( if that's whet we get ) become 4 and the rumors of Wingard are true, I'd think Hawthorn's 15 ( at least ) becomes ours then our current set of 9, 21, 27 become 4,15,21,27 at the expense of Wingard.

I don't like it and I don't think it's a huge increase but given any of the top 8-12 look like players and especially the top 6 then it could be longer term deal worth doing.

I don't want to lose Wingard though.

You watch pick #73 be a diamond in the rough.

Ryan Houlihan ( Carlton )
Shane Tuck ( Richmond )
Leigh Brown ( Collingwood )
Matt Spangher ( Sydney )

All pretty good pick 73's.

Ha, a random number.

What number was Fyfe?

If I get ahead of time today I might do a high number vs talent search.

So essentially it would be Wingard, Polec and pick 9 for pick 4 and 15
