I was wondering why Trent Copeland wasn't playing in this match and was with the channel 7 commentary team for the test match, I read that NSW have given him permission to pursue his media career, that helps SA alot.

I'm staggered that a player in such good form would choose to sit out a Shield game. Really he's only a few injuries away from a test gig.

I'd get it if he was well past it, but he's taken a bucketload off wickets this year.

Not to mention his stints on the Cricket with the touchscreen were average at best. Good on him for thinking of life after Cricket, but while you can I'd still be picking Cricket over the media gig.

Copeland wouldn't have a BBL contract, hence the reason he is commentating. Has a 2 month gap in his year & will fill it commentating.
