The amount of ridiculous declarations in the last set of two dayers where you can see mates looking after other mates teams is ridiculous and a blight on the comp.
Not sure what games you're talking about?
Hope its not the Eyre Royals vs North Pines game, doubt theres to many mates on them 2 teams after the weekend!
Result is disputed, doubt Royals would declare behind in the second innings, more likely a walk off.

Yep, there was a walk off after an incident earlier on in the day.

What happened?
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

If I have time today I'll go back in the archives and find a putrid round 14 which made a heap of rule changes.
Unfortunately it will always happen, might have to play the last round or two as one dayers?
There was a One Tree Hill result that was a total piss take.
6x team grades.
10x round season (play each other once in two day game and once in one day game.)
3x week finals series (credit to Craig D'Antonio for that suggestion - 1v2 qualifying, 3v4 elim.. loser 1v2 against winner 3v4 prelim.. winner qualifying against winner prelim)
Start season week later.
Extra week off at Christmas.
Finish minor round mid Feb
Finish finals series (Sat/Sun) first week of March.
Avoid Mad March (Clipsal / Fringe etc.)
Avoid clashes with footy trials
Around a months break between summer and winter sports
Opportunities:
Extended "careers" due to shorter season
Chance for increased participation with less time investment needed
Chance for reduced operating costs with shortened season.
Less opportunity for doctored results heading into the last few games.
Greater opportunity for finals.
Strengthen competition in each grade and lengthen the divisions.

I like it all except for that bit, 3 Saturday/Sundays in a row will make for some very unhappy wives.

**** em, the trade off is they get 6 weeks less of cricket over the course of 6 months including a whole month before footy..
Plus 3x Sat/Sun would only be for a handful of teams - and would i'm sure be appreciated for those sides that dominate all year then have one bad day in a semi and are out.

Of course Eyre Royals wouldn’t declare behind as well that’s stupid and the fine is massive.
Just noticed that this round in the ATCA and Premier Cricket was the 'spirit of cricket' round. Assmue this was state wide? Not a good look for rhis particular game....

How good would the banter be for the team already in the GF going to watch the Prelim with a ute full of piss?

Come on Bedge, a shorter season for us fat cricketers isn't exactly what I want cos it's my only excercise
A flashback to one of my favourite semi's, look at the standard of Grade 6 back then.
I had taken the reigns of our B's the previous season as we had slipped to Grade 7 and it was too big of a gap for players to step up to our A's and I thought we had far too much talent to be losing like we were.
The Rosie's team was a very strong one and had us reeling at 5/21 with Andy Quintrell not wanting to play A's much to our disappointment.

Grand final that year was a nail biter as well. unfortunately for me i was on the losing end but i remember it vividly! the game against Smithfield prior to the grandfinal we played you and had beaten you pretty well so we were up and about thinking we could do it again, not to be though.

Strange cat Andy.. certainly a different breed.
GF looked a cracker too.
Yeah, it was, it ebbed and flowed, we were cruising then lost 3/5 then re-grouped then lost 3/4 to have a young Brad Duffy go out absolutely shitting himself, Benno then hit two fours in succession to finish it off.
I get some won’t like the travel but nothing has energised me more about playing cricket then moving up to Clare and playing at new grounds, against different cricketers etc.
Has been great fun and brought a lot of excitement back for me.
