Fever slight. I cough all the time, so no change there.

Think I will let the boss know and see what he says.

I can work from home.

Just go to a normal clinic. Mrs went to Docs friday but was only going to the Docs for a script, she mentioned she wasnt feeling great, turns out she got tonsilitis.
If you're not feeling great, the older work colleague may still be at a higher risk to catch whatever you may have.

In this current climate, better to be cautious.

I guess everyone who feels a bit off colour now will think they’ve got it.

Yes and no. Mrs knew she didnt have it and wasnt really keen on mentioning anything.

But there are people who are scared of it and will play up any illness they have and link it to coronavirus before a doctor, in most cases, will advise otherwise.

For those of us working from home:

1. How are you finding it?

2. Would you prefer to be in your normal environment with your colleagues?

3. Is it really slow today (Mon March 23rd), or about normal?

4. Are you managing to fit other things into your day?

I will answer my own questions above, but interested to hear how others are finding things.

Firstly, I consider myself fortunate to be able to work from home.

1. A bit surreal. The commute to work is 30 seconds. I find I tend to start earlier, answer a few e-mails run a few reports etc, while I am having some breakfast. Then go have a shower etc and come back to my desk.

2. The novelty is wearing off after 1 week, yes I'd rather be in the office in some ways.

3. Todays is frustratingly slow. It reminds me of 9/11, everyone was in shock, and I think that's what is happening today. Hopefully it gets back to some kind of normal tomorrow. Even my export customers (NZ, Sri Lanka, Pakistan etc) are quiet.

4. Yes I do the dishes every morning, take the rubbish out, and get something out of the freezer or whatever for dinner for Mrs C.

Today I have started a small exercise routine to fill in the time, can't hurt I guess. Just simple stuff, sit ups, step ups, calf raises/drops. I have a bike on a mag trainer in my garage so I do 15/20 minutes every other day on it. Yesterday I went out on the mountain bike for about 90 minutes....

Corona aren't you guys on essential business only restrictions? If so are the building industry suppliers still open?

At ts stage we are open for business. I'd argue that we are essential suppliers, but I am not at the level to make that argument. I really don't know about builders, in any official sense. I did see something on FB (so take that with a grain of salt) that builders/contractors are good to continue.

Not too bad for first day today. May pall after a couple weeks. When I think it will hit badly is if I am then stuck at home on the weekend, which i don't mind when I go to work normally

2. Would you prefer to be in your normal environment with your colleagues?
Ambivalent at the moment. Most of the people I work more closely with are at other locations anyway.

3. Is it really slow today (Mon March 23rd), or about normal?
Madness. But that's the time of year in our industry.

4. Are you managing to fit other things into your day?
Not trying to, for the moral obligation to my employer. Trying to keep as set routine as normal, starting and finishing, breaks etc (except for these ten minutes of here!!), and exercise and housework outside of work hours as normal.

Ok, thanks for that. Was at my landscape suppliers this morning & they hope they can come under essential services because they supply gas & firewood. If the timber, masonry, steel & quarry suppliers go into lockdown the builders, contractors, apprentices & TA's will quickly follow, be about the same amount as the hospitality industry I'd think.

I'd imagine in his line of work ( logistics ) he'd be quite busy.
