I'd guess 250 or more to choose from and the young lad behind the counter said a bit over 50 new ones coming in this week.

Maybe it's the effect of lockdown. Maybe it's the fact that the missus has a bag of licorice in the pantry. Maybe it's some other deep-rooted psychological issue.

Whatever the reason, I have a hankering for OUZO.

Just went and bought me a bottle. Tonight I'll be drinking like a greek for the first time in decades.

Did you use those alcoholic cake essences that were eventually banned?

Had a couple bottles of St Hallett Faith Shiraz last night. 2 for $32 at BWS at the moment. Very nice cheap red wine if you're looking for a nice drop at a good price.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Indeed, I couldn't believe they lasted in the supermarkets as long as they did.

Next time you're in town go to first choice liquor to see if they have their Parson's Paddock on special, every so often they sell their 6 pack boxes for $36, it's a great drop, I'm usually a Shiraz fan but their cab sav is better than their shiraz in this instance.

A mate and I got onto this on a few occasions back in about 1993. Mixed a bottle of the essence with tap water into one or two soft drink bottles, walked into to town, taking the odd gulp (from Prospect) and sat in the park opposite the Botanic Hotel to drink them. The only certain recollection I have is getting into a cab once we'd polished them off (and having briefly walked/floated through the Royal Hotel), and as I didn't have much cash on me, asked the driver to 'give me six buck's worth' or words to that effect. This meant we were dropped off at Scotty's Motel corner, and had to stagger our separate ways back home. Had a killer hangover too, felt like a pig had shat in my head.

You'd go from seemingly fine to absolutely blotto instantly, reminded me of the teenage days drinking Mississippi Moonshine or Nikov Vodka and Orange.

So true. My memory of that night, even a couple of days later, was like Swiss cheese.

Facking disgusting stuff, reckon it was excess hydraulic fluid from the Sputnik that they couldn't use to extinguish Chernobyl.

Does anyone here drink Boddingtons? Can't bloody get it around here. Do they sell it by the slab at Dan's or only 4 packs?

And a little something we found when we were digging up the yard to put the pool in, among many other things ( I'm pretty sure over the years there had been plenty of shit buried in our yard that we didn't find ) for @Spargo and @Lightning McQueen
