Broadview a bit scared to clear Fisher and Simpson to play against them for the Rams or what!? Haha pretty stiff, poor guys been looking forward to footy all through COVID and pull this stunt.. Strong message from Broadview but how’s the mental health impact on the players who are now being told they won’t be cleared all year, yet won’t let them play at Broadview either!?

Is Fisher the dude who had his outgoing clearance from Broadies denied half a dozen times the other year?

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2020
Yep - it’s not the first time they’ve done this to him or other players but surely there are far bigger issues in the world right now. Just my two cents but it’s pretty rough. Given they’re probably flag favorites with a big influx of players, it says a fair bit about the guys at the ‘top’. Can’t even face the poor guys and return their phone calls. Pretty grim act - low level of intelligence considering mental health is one of the biggest topics in men’s sport at the moment. I just wonder if this really does make them feel big and strong or if they realise how ridiculous they look and don’t care anyway?Dirty dog wrote:You know he’s a footy slut BedgeyThe Bedge wrote:Is Fisher the dude who had his outgoing clearance from Broadies denied half a dozen times the other year?

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2020
Don’t know the circumstance around the clearance, but I think throwing the mental health line around is ordinary.
Yes it’s a difficult time we are in, and it’s unprecedented.. but I do know there are plenty of blokes who are happy to put their hand out for incentives when the going is good, happy to jump ship for a pay day, no thought or care to how they leave the club behind.. I’m sure mental health doesn’t play a factor when negotiating those dollar signs.
Fisher may not be one of those blokes.. but given there is history, as an outsider you gotta wonder - is it Broadies, or is it him?

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2020
What’s the purpose of stopping him from playing local footy though Bedge? I am throwing the mental health card at this one mate - people play footy as an outlet, to get away from their jobs and to have some fun with mates. The guy works in CPS and needs to now play local as he lives in houses overnight and during weekends. Others have lost their jobs, footy is all they have now.The Bedge wrote:Don’t know the circumstance around the clearance, but I think throwing the mental health line around is ordinary.

I fail to see what Broadview gain from denying their right to a game of footy, regardless of what the issue was. They were sh*tty because the way Jacko got sacked and they voiced their opinion at a club meeting which they had every right to do as players and left.
Big whoop players leave clubs for good money, loyalty isn’t what it was. How can you blame anyone who is on $650 $1,000 a week from their day job who can make that plying a game of footy? It’s helping set young blokes up now. Clubs dispose of players just as easily now, it’s a vicious cycle and we all are accepting of it because at one point or another all of our clubs will be beneficiaries of a good year of player influx.
They gain nothing from this, they aren’t contracted and haven’t been there since 2018. Time to get the hand off it and let everyone play the 8 or 9 games we have left this year. This is not the year to be pulling a stunt like this.

If they just want to play footy, why don't they just play for Broadview?

According to the clearance page Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League Glenunga Fisher, Jacob Approved 2020-06-30 2020-07-01
Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League Glenunga Simpson, Brett Approved 2020-06-30 2020-07-01
so both have been cleared to Glenunga

League brought in a new rule for the season due to Covid, players returning to the AdFL must be cleared by the players original club if they are playing for a different AdFL club this season.
Broadview essentially have said these players cannot play football this year.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2020
Wasnt aware of that thanks for clearing that up however that being the case why did the league approve the clearances and secondly i see no clearance application from Broadview to Glenunga so i presume that movement would be an agreement only between clubs., Very strangeJesseWhite wrote:locky801 wrote:they played for Kingston the last 2 seasons so whats Broadview got to do with the clearanceramming23 wrote:Broadview a bit scared to clear Fisher and Simpson to play against them for the Rams or what!? Jessewhite sorry to say your wrong if they played at broadview last season and they was leaving in 2020 to a country club then if there season didnt get going in that country league then yes they will have to go back to broadview but if they wasnt there in 2019 at broadview they can go where ever they like this season as my club got a guy that played at amauter club in 2018 in div4 and then when country in 2019 there season didnt get under way this year now he playing for us

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2020
Jessewhite is correct, even if they last played in the AdFL 5 years ago you still need approval from his former AdFL club. I had this confirmed by the league this weekBekind23 wrote:Jessewhite sorry to say your wrong if they played at broadview last season and they was leaving in 2020 to a country club then if there season didnt get going in that country league then yes they will have to go back to broadview but if they wasnt there in 2019 at broadview they can go where ever they like this season as my club got a guy that played at amauter club in 2018 in div4 and then when country in 2019 there season didnt get under way this year now he playing for us
