Eclectic Racing Names

Post by mal »

Been some interesting names of races/trots/dogs runners
My favorite all time name was a SA galloper in the latter part of last century
Its name
Esra Star

It had several runs until the penny dropped
An applicable form comment for this runner should have been ' well BACKed'
Yes indeed when you read this horses name BACKwards, you will realise why it was banned from using this name !

I always liked the trotter Pistol Knight

'Pergola' was one I never really understood - why call a horse an inanimate bit of backyard structure?

There was a pacer called Ivana Humpalot, it raced under that name but was made to change so they called it Ivana Mynameback.
