Umpires don’t even know the rules. You can’t pay a free down the ground in that instanceArmchair expert wrote:Jim05 wrote:Most corrupt sport in the world.

The free kick is awarded at the spot where the kick or handpass lands or is first possessed, to the nearest player to the spot (unless the disposal is backwards, or the ball lands out of bounds or through for a behind, in which case the free kick is awarded to the infringed player at the spot of the infringement"
The umpire should never be allowed to umpire another game

Between the draw the other night and the Blues tonight, massive hit in my tips, but worth it, not too many better finishes.

Clearly a poor match up, especially the way Geelong got the 1 on 1 they wanted.
Smashed Clurey's confidence for the whole game.
Didn't have an extra intercept defender either.
Kenny keeping his powder dry for when it really counts I think.
THink youre giving Ken too much credit
Its a blatantly obvious matchup.
Well when and if they play each other again we'll know.
If clurey starts on him again then Kenny's history.
He would have dominated Jonas too. That was rare form last night. He would have beaten anyone.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Was Jonas at Largs reserve watching Pt Districts?
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

They showed the actual AFL rule on the Sunday Footy show and the umpire was spot on, its taken from in play closest to where it lands out of play.
There was conjecture was whether it was a FAD or not and it looked like it was correct to me, Brayshaw should have tried to smother it instead of playing the man.
The only obvious error was who took the kick.

How did they explain it Wedgie? Rule as quoted in post above seems pretty clear.

Yep, seems as though that is correct which therefore begs the question of why the two weren’t paid correctly to Fremantle minutes earlier. The one to Conca was worse and was brought back to the HBF when it clearly went OOTF on the wingWedgie wrote:daysofourlives wrote:That was always my understanding to

They quoted the law (printed it on the screen), I assume the AFL is different or the above rule is outdated.

The kick is from where the ball crossed the boundary line.
Umpire got it right.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
