1 of them went well, you can't be 4 wide for the whole journey on a soft/heavy track and expect there to be some grunt in the end, a very poor ride, I'm usually a big fan of Will.Sheik Yerbouti wrote:Read what I mean not what I typeBooney wrote:Race 8 is Approach Discreet mate.Sheik Yerbouti wrote:Owes me nothing, will also multi with one of my Blackbookers Always Discreet in R8 @ $25 boosted.

I also loved "The Kingdom" which broke down today - sad day for all connections and me, who backed it regularly.

Some of the vision of subby visiting sick and disabled children in hospital is amazing. Such a placid beautiful horse. You’d swear he knew the kids were ill.

My first memory of horse racing/betting was when the old man chucked 50 clams on Kiwi to win the 83 Melbourne Cup, I was 9.Corona Man wrote:Some of the vision of subby visiting sick and disabled children in hospital is amazing. Such a placid beautiful horse. You’d swear he knew the kids were ill.

I still remember his TAB account number from when he'd ring his bets through then listen to them on the radio.
"Account number 6650420"
"Good evening Chris, how it's going tonight?"
I remember a dog that used to run at Gawler and Angle Park called Wild Country that seemed to never lose.

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
I was at the Show and my brother who put $2 on Dolphin Prince at Victoria Park when I was about 8. Ended up taking home about 20 showbags. I “shouted” an amusement for my brother and girlfriend which was the mirror maze, she got stuck in there and balled her eyes out. An attendant had to get her out

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
Gurners Lane was the first time I asked my old man to put a bet on for me (was 10 at the time) - He's never been a racing man so Im pretty sure he didn't get it on but threw a few sheckles my way knowing I'd been into him about it.
Was on Subby in 92' so was already a favourite of mine even before his non-racing career began, very sad news

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
My brother used my old mans account and won over $500 one night, dad lived in Fisherman's Bay and my brother was living at Moana at the time so the old man was filthy as he had to drive his card down so he could withdraw it, I'm sure he took a commission.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:How many of us would us our old mans betting account from time to time[emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Betting account? Mine was put on by the old man with the SP at the local. Possibly showing my age.

I remember going into a pub in Pt Pirie (midweek), would’ve been 1993. There was a bookmaker in a small room off of the front bar.

One used to work out of the Portland hotel years ago, mind you back then every pub in the Port probably had an SP.Spargo wrote:I remember going into a pub in Pt Pirie (midweek), would’ve been 1993. There was a bookmaker in a small room off of the front bar.
