No disrespect to Knappy - bowls reasonably consistent, but 3x 5 and 2x 4 wicket hauls is craziness!
He's had to work his arse off for a bowl previously, he's probably learnt to respect the privilege to have the ball in his hand.
With Woody, Williamson, Rory, Benny Mc and Maurice all getting a shot before him over the past few years he takes the bull by the horns now when he gets the opportunity, from what I've seen in Grade 2 in recent times, if you bowl tight lines with patience, you'll force mistakes.
Agree, always had plenty of potential.
I know from my perspective bowling that when there has been a lot of pressure to pick up wickets really early in a spell (being the 5-6 bowler with better bowlers in the line up) it makes it really hard to get into a rhythm and at times you try to hard. I imagine Knappy would have faced that a bit given the bowling attacks he was part of.
Now he is the lead bowler, he knows his going to get his full overs and a couple of spells he can really relax into a spell and relish it, which seems to be happening.
In saying that I think cricket Australia wide metro/country wherever you like the standard is dropping, which is reflected at the highest level as well.
So one of the Grand Master players hit him while he was umpiring?
I heard it was hit or be hit, just defending himself.
I remember back in the 90s when he was coaching Angaston, there was an all in brawl after the game with Barossa Districts. Mullet wasnt playing, just coaching and was knocked out cold by a king hit from a BD player. I dare say now he prefers to get in first

I'm still trying to work out which part of the policy i breached, and still awaiting a response from PDCA as to which part.
I'm also a little surprised someone can be notified of their "guilt" of something without any prior knowledge of the incident, opportunity for defense or given any explanation of what the apparent breach relates to.
Mickey Mouse much? Talk about ruling with an iron fist.

Im guessing your post in question has been deleted because I haven't seen anything that fits in those description.
Definitely seen some posts that don't agree with the PDCA but not agreeing doesn't make it defamatory or offensive.

Yeah i deleted it Sunday morning - thought i looked like a whinger, and decided i would wait until the end of the game and submit it in my captains report instead
Dear diary,
Umpiring standard continues to impress.. today I had an umpire that..
Started the game 10min late coz he’s slow and lazy
Called “over” after 2 balls of an over.
Failed to give a couple of very adjacent LBW’s and responded when question on one what it was missing with “I dunno”.
Called “Byes’ off the leg
Called runs that were clearly leg byes and answered “thought I heard something”.
Was still sitting on his arse on a chair at the end of tea whilst we waited for him to arrive in the middle.
Watched a guy bowl a head high full toss that nearly killed the batsman and then told the bowler “that’s one for the over”.
Spent a couple of overs staring out to mid wicket in lala land as the bowler bowled.
Sadly Dear diary, we still had to pay him today.
**** me dead. Not fit to tie my shoe laces.

Oh yeah I did see that one, I didn't think it was that bad. I would see much worse posts on a weekly basis on facebook.
Umpiring is a tough gig, and i appreciate these guys are giving up their Saturdays to have a crack at it - no umpires no games and all that.. but when you're earning $130 a week and umpiring one of the higher grades, then you need to be held to account, and there is an expectation to uphold a standard.
If an umpire cant maintain standards, how can they control a game?
