A massive week for the playing group on and off field, from flights being on, to being off and then on again all the while building up to acknowledge the 300 game milestone of one of the clubs greats, the week truly had it all and there was no more fitting end to the week than a win and cementing a top 4 spot with a 28 point victory over Collingwood at Marvel Stadium.

Since the sacking of Nathan Buckley Collingwood have opened up their ball movement through the midfield but this hasn't increased their scoring ability, just once this year over 100 points ( round 2 v Carlton ) and once over 90 ( round 8 v North ) showing their forward half lacks potency, this would have been a focus for Port on the weekend, lock it in our F50 on the back of defensive pressure inside 50 and not allow them to move the ball.
Port had 15 tackles inside our forward 50, Amon, Dixon, Duursma, Georgiades and Powell-Pepper all laid 2 or more tackles inside 50, the result? Collingwood's midfield ball movement was stifled, Port held the ground with 58 inside 50's to 39 and that's the tale of the match. A side who struggles to score only having 39 I50's were never going to win.

One of the more pleasing forward line efforts of the year with Dixon (4), Marshall (3) and Ladhams (2) all hitting the scoreboard and the pressure mentioned above for mine was one of the most dominant performances from our front half this year after last week having our back half control the game against St Kilda. Some nice balance to our game at the moment.

Our midfield had a different look this week, Wines, so good all year, went into a defensive role after half time on Taylor Adams allowing the ever improving Drew to get his hands on the ball. 32 touches, 8 clearances and 5 tackles his best game at AFL level. Boak in his 300th was his usual self
with 30 touches, Wines still racked up 30, Houston sent the ball inside 50 7 times showing he'd spent more time mid than half back/mid and Bonner on the wing enjoyed some freedom with 3 i50's. Amon, Drew, Boak and Bonner led the way for score involvements, a good inside / outside mix.

The return of Rozee, Butters and Duursma wasn't one for the highlight package but there's no doubt they'll be better for the run.

Boons best - Drew, Boak, Dixon, Amon, Houston, Wines

Mate I love Port Adelaide. So many happy memories, unlike the last crummy century.

Very happy with that.

We were challenged and we responded. Butters, Rozee and Duursma all looked better for another run, Rozee very good today. Dixon another 4, McKenzie Burton and Jonas good down back. Bergman really developing too.

Good lift out of a few blokes today. Go a game ahead in 4th with the Showdown ahead.

Boons best - Amon, Boak, Wines, McKenzie, Dixon, Rozee

Strange team though the GWS. Capable of bearing Melbourne in Melbourne and then losing to the sun's as well. They should be alot better than what they are.

How good has Amon become?he was a massive dud but has now turned into an A grader.
Let’s hope Riley Bonner can do the same thing.

I was surprised you had Boak and Rozee in there - but then realised Boak had 24 inc 7 clearances - didn't think he had that much of it.

Liked Bergman's game, but he faded a fair bit through the middle, and also liked Drew + Burton.

Thought Marshall was yuck, but he ended up with 16 disposals

Ladhams with 3 important goals worth a mention too.
