Some tasty fixture to start the year in the top 3 grades.....beauty of the 6 team divisions. Love to look back on it at the end of the year but reckon we might have a few potential GF match ups in round 1.

Div 1
SW vs AV
VIR vs EP
CU vs DUB

Div 2
PG vs C
SM vs NP
NEK vs ER

Div 3
TW vs OTH
ENF vs ATCO
DUB vs ER

Div 3, where i'll have my focus, looks tight. You could make a case for each team. I'm predicting a div where it'll come down to a couple points between making finals or not, getting a home final or not, getting demoted or not.

Yeah agree, div 3 will arguably be the tightest with 4-5 potential premiers.

Atco will be better than they were last year if you look at the ins/outs plus the young lads being a year better.

Hard to see ER being as strong without Akram but no doubt they will be put a competitive side on the park.

TW announced a few more signings that look impressive.

OTH will be around the mark no doubt. as well albeit maybe a bit of an unknown.

Dublin being the only b grade side will make it tough but they will have their moments no doubt.

My guesses for the top 3 divs are:
DIV 1 GF- SW vs AV, Wooden Spooner- CU
DIV 2 GF- PG vs C, Wooden Spooner- NEK
DIV 3 GF- ENF vs ATC Wooden Spooner- DUB

That’s Eyre Royals B grade in Grade 3, last year was a side that had McCarthy, Figallo, Harrison, Mick Feltus, Matt Feltus, Simpson and Jenner.

Dublin might be a B grade, but recruiting basically a whole A grade last year meant their “regular” A grade in previous seasons filtered down.

Childs back for ATCO is a huge inclusions, and Two Wells are on the climb - I suspect that might be the early season favourites to meet in the final.

Not that its a bad thing but out of curiosity how did One Tree Hill go down to div 3 and Smithfield went to div 2 despite OTH finishing higher last season.

Was it due to Smithfield's recruits or just an appetite to play higher up.

I could be wrong, but suspect combination of Smithfield recruits, and whispers that OTH have lost Adam Smith.

Rackebrandt & I would have to combine for 80 wickets and 800 runs to be any chance of even playing finals.

How good is it to see LO1 purely A Grade teams, that should shut a few of us up.............................probably won't though.

LO2 is full of B Grade teams except for Salisbury West, it is listed as their D Grade, it will be riddled with talent though with a few blokes that don't want to play two day cricket, when you have 3 two day teams you can do what you like IMO.

Kudos to Craigmore and the Royals too for entering 3 two day sides too, the gradings look so much better full stop with the 6 team format, I've been a massive advocate for it for years and it looks brilliant, I hope I share the same opinion in March.

On paper, the gradings look very even and more competitive. hopefully that's how it plays out. I did like 8x team divisions and playing different sides more, but at least this format should keep clubs interested in longer with only 2 clubs to miss finals.

With the 5x 2 day and 10x 1 day format, we should seriously do away with the LO grades and just play that format right down.

LO1 has been "A grade" sides for a while - but they're not necessarily A grade level. Quick look - Trinity would be their 3rd side, Adelaide Warriors have sides in ATCA and Adelaide Union/ Adelaide Lions are new popup clubs. Para Vista to win their 4th straight flag since joining PDCA.

Yeah 100 agree about the gradings look bang on....

Most comps should run pretty deep before the final four is set which was my only concern having played in 6 team comps before. Most of the grades look like they could have 4 genuine premiership contenders and even as many as 5 potential finalists.

I would still love to see a separate one day comp that has its own relegation/promotion so you could be in div 1 in the 2 dayers and div 3 in the one dayers. That almost could mean that you play up to 9 different teams a year which imo adds to the enjoyment.

Despite taking a while to get there reckon the PDCA have got it pretty bang on this year.

So what you are saying is that Rackebrandt will only take a few wickets and a score a few runs as 80/800 stats will be yours alone.

Think Bedge is to shy to say it explicitly but yeah you're on the right track.

Surely Rackers wouldn’t bother getting out of bed to play div 3.....
