Noticed today the Hackney Hotel (other than the - I'd presume - heritage listed original bar) is no more. What's taking place there?

16 story high-rise was on the cards at one stage, not sure if that is what got the final approval or not.

I use to drink there in the late 70's.
It should be heritaged listed for some of the antics we got up to
The drink glasses in my first flat all came from the Hackney
The Piecart glass plates were a nice touch as well

I hate peas as much as anyone, but a pie floater with sauce while drunk is some of the best food I've had

I think the only disagreement me and the missus have had was mushy peas v normal peas but being from North England mushy peas are a staple diet for her, give me crisp fresh baby peas any days, even as a kid I ate frozen peas all the time as a snack.

Anyone know of a half decent wicket keeper who doesn't play cricket and wants a game this weekend.

We have lost our 3 wicket keepers due to harvest. I look set to make my keeping debut at the ripe old age of 37.

I'll bet you a bottle of Taylors St Andrews Cab Sav or Reillys Old vine Stolen Block Shiraz that if a Hay Truck drives past the oval the old cockies in the slips will say "what a shit job they've done of stacking the hay and that if they did it properly they could've gone another row higher (or two if they are the small bales)!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Was the first licenced venue that I got served at, I asked the old man if I could have a beer while we were at a wedding, he replied "yeah, if they serve you".
