ashbarty
Today is difficult and filled with emotion for me as I announce my retirement from tennis. I wasn’t sure how to share this news with you so I asked my good friend casey dellacqua to help me. I am so thankful for everything this sport has given me and leave feeling proud and fulfilled. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, I’ll always be grateful for the lifelong memories that we created together
More to come tomorrow at my press conference.

If you want to go quickly, go alone.

Not a shame at all I reckon.Jimmy_041 wrote:What a shame - she is a class act
She's 25, she's been #1 for two years, she's won Wimbledon, Australian and French Opens and is ready to take on the next step in her life, good on her I say, even in retiring she's setting the perfect example of doing what makes you happy.

It's a shame for the rest of us.Booney wrote:Not a shame at all I reckon.Jimmy_041 wrote:What a shame - she is a class act

She actually played tennis instead of being anchored to the baseline and playing a $hit shot every 3rd hit like most of them
