No wonder the other States take the piss out of us.
I understand why we still have them but it’s time for change, surely!

personally, i completely disagree.
people only have a certain amount of money to spend. shops being open longer isnt magically going to give everyone more disposable income.
it would start with allowing longer trading, then the push would come for getting rid of weekend and sunday loadings for the staff working those days, and it would end with retail workers being basically slaves. no breaks, no benefits, only hours upon hours of retail hell.
i may be biased from my years working retail

I understand retail and agree with what you are saying.
But it is going to happen eventually to come in line with the other states so let’s just make it happen now.
Plus I wanted meat for a bbq for Monday lunch but couldn’t get it anywhere.

Sorry, I meant "Shops were open Sunday, dickhead".
And for the previous 109 days prior to that, in fact.Booney wrote:amber_fluid wrote:tipper wrote:amber_fluid wrote:Our stupid out dated trading hours for retail stores on public holidays.

Should implement the country shopping hours regime

Sun 07:30 AM - 09:00 PM
Public Holidays: 07:30 AM - 09:00 PM

Serious question: a person goes to Uni during the week and works weekends at a pub or shop
Do they get Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday loading?
