Now you're definitely drinking the wrong stuff. Go to the Bond Store at Wallaroo and you can taste some liquid gold.Pseudo wrote:If we want to talk overrated booze:Lightning McQueen wrote:Yeah, The Glenlivet goes alright, the standard ones I don't like much.Pseudo wrote: Then you're drinking the wrong stuff.

I like Gin but I get what you're saying, if it wasn’t for the over-hype in recent times I wouldn't have given it a thought.Pseudo wrote:If we want to talk overrated booze:Lightning McQueen wrote:Yeah, The Glenlivet goes alright, the standard ones I don't like much.Pseudo wrote: Then you're drinking the wrong stuff.

100%. The dozen or so bottles Mrs Boon has in the liquor cabinet all taste like they'd run my whipper snipper.Pseudo wrote:If we want to talk overrated booze:Lightning McQueen wrote:Yeah, The Glenlivet goes alright, the standard ones I don't like much.Pseudo wrote: Then you're drinking the wrong stuff.

Invite Vamo’s around if you want to empty those Ouzo bottles.Brodlach wrote:That’s about 20 cartons of decent beer, I know what I’d be buying
Saying that I currently have 14 bottles of Ouzo at home, all gifts
There was a gin festival at the convention centre this year. My missus loves the gin too, and that day was her birthday so we went with a group of friends. Anyway long story short, I think I tasted every bottle of gin that was there, and ended up asleep in bed by 5.30pm paraletic. Woke up the next day to a room full of gin bottles...13 in total. I said to the missus "I think we've taken everyones gin that they bought". I thought I better check my visa statement and yep...all 13 bottles were ours at $900 expense! Apparently i was just buying everything.Booney wrote:Mate, we / I have travelled far and wide to gather this collection. I reckon the dozen is more like 17 or 18 and most of them are $100+.
The gin is nice, you just have to add good tonic ( the right one ) and some aromatics ( the right ones ) before you drink it. I don't get it.

I’d prefer to drink my own urine.
My doctor told me if I'm going to drink I will need to convert to gin or just be prepared to die within the next few years.Vamos wrote:I like Gin but I get what you're saying, if it wasn’t for the over-hype in recent times I wouldn't have given it a thought.Pseudo wrote:If we want to talk overrated booze:Lightning McQueen wrote:Yeah, The Glenlivet goes alright, the standard ones I don't like much.Pseudo wrote: Then you're drinking the wrong stuff.

Prohibition and Aviation are my two favourites, currently hooking into a local one called 36S that goes alright too.Booney wrote:Mate, we / I have travelled far and wide to gather this collection. I reckon the dozen is more like 17 or 18 and most of them are $100+.

Gin.
It was never a first choice drink but I've adapted to it and I don't get the hangover that bourbon, whiskey or beer can produce.
I'm not much of a tonic fan, I'll have a couple with it but too many gives me heartburn the next day. I dehydrate fruit to pimp it up a bit with soda water or a dash of raspberry.
I do miss beer, I know it's the devil for me though, I try to only buy a 6 pack at a time because if I buy a slab I'll pretty much demolish it in an afternoon.
Did well to get 13 bottles for $900 I reckon, everyone my Mrs likes is $100+!!!MW wrote:There was a gin festival at the convention centre this year.
