Id love to hear the leagues response to that comment, I’m certain there would be very good reasoning why you’re still in D6. Without intentionally being too harsh I personally believe the league has done pretty well to make allowances for 4 clubs to only field an A grade side as in years gone by you just simply wouldn’t exist. Fielding a single senior side in a C grade competition isn’t the answer to returning a club to multiple grades. If it does succeed history shows they become cellar dwellers in lower grades/leagues long term. Post Covid has thrown up many curveballsHBF39 wrote:If only... We asked multiple times to go down, but the league are firm on their decision.

I'm not on the committee, so I can't comment on exact dates/times. I just know its been multiple times.Mr Beefy wrote:When did you ask though?HBF39 wrote:If only... Obviously one of those times was after they told us we have to play A grade, so probably a little late at that point.

Back to the original question though, If you need multiple seasons with only 1 team in a c grade division then your days are numbered (in any competition across SA - Excluding Riverland Independent’s for obvious reasons).Dutchy wrote:Would there be any issue if a club, who only have 1 team, played in the C grade comp for a few years? Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
As I mentioned a few posts above, anyone that comes back from that find themselves battling in the lower divisions long term. There’s nothing wrong with battling clubs in the lower divs, however it’s far from ideal and realistically it’s not a viable option.

Agree its not ideal, but if the club has a plan and needs time to execute on it then surely its better than letting the club die? Or is rationalisation what the AdFL want?

Adelaide is small, footy community is small.. people talk - people probably know more about what’s going on at clubs than the league at times.BulkEFC wrote:If only someone had a direct contact with the CEO to get all the information on every club and post it on this forum. The Bedge wrote:C5, C6, C7 and C8 to be re-structured into 3x 10 team divs I heard.Fools Gold wrote:League now restructuring C competitions a week before season start?

That would be silly, they’ve been told if they don’t turn up round 1 their whole season is done.. Anyway, they will beat the demons this week in my honest opinionThe Bedge wrote:Eastern Park by 60 points (forfeit received).

Aaron Sorre to kick 38 goals and single handedly hold off a rampant Eastern Park.#bleedredandblue wrote:That would be silly, they’ve been told if they don’t turn up round 1 their whole season is done.. Seriously, you'd have to give them a 150 point start to make a game of it.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Nah in all seriousness: Eastern Park should win by a stupid amount, Lutheran will make light work of the units young team, Ingle Farm are huge flag favourites but I actually think Fitzroy knock them off by a couple goals this weekend, Houghton suck so Salisbury will win easy and the last game is irrelevant but Rosewater to get up at home by a few goals.. They are my proper predictionsredyellow&blue wrote:Damn, everyone getting smacked this weekend by the look of it.#bleedredandblue wrote:Eastern Park v Elizabeth - Elizabeth 15 pointsPurple Warrior wrote:Eastern Park v Elizabeth - Eastern Park 200+
