Rob is a junior of the club and played seniors after that. Came back when South wasn't his thing.

I get that, the point being not many go from SANFL league to div 6 at 20 years of age

See Mitchell Park have forfeited the B grade tomorrow. Bloody tough out there these days. Looks like they fielded 2 competitive sides last weekend too

Spot on

We don't take our Lamborghinis out in the mud

But nah, lots of FIFO dudes are rostered on and we copped a few injuries. Add that to a bit of pea heart syndrome and a forfeit was sadly unavoidable.

I’ve always said rounds 6-14 are the toughest. Nights are colder, grounds get heavier (Waiting for that one this year) and the novelty wears thin. If you’re getting solid commitment over that 10 week period you’re going to play a fair way in to finals. Just shows you how committed and invested blokes are.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

What are people's thoughts on the season and how things stand now that we're halfway through?

2 horse race - Sullies + Para Hills. Both these sides would've been competitive in D6 this year. Baring a choke of Port Adel proportions both should be GF bound and promoted.

Hackham are travelling well, bit disappointed with Flinders Uni thought they'd be better than they are.

Everyone from 5th to 8th are no good, making up numbers. Lucky for them one will make the 5 by default - probably be Brahma, they have some handy players in their list still.

What makes flinders unis season so far disappointing? Like you’ve said para and Lonny would be competitive in div six, hackham are travelling well but only beat flinders due to a flinders not rocking up until half time, they’ve improved again from last year, heading the right direction

Hard to gauge. We coasted for a month then got wiped off the park first quarter against decent opposition in Para Hills then finally woke up, but their inaccurate kicking flattered us. Could have been all over at quarter time. Brahma pushed us to the final siren and other than that I think Flinders were next best, then Hackham.

I just felt last year - particularly early - they were real close to all the pieces falling into place and becoming a strong club. Their numbers were good, depth was good, game style and strategic methodology was sound. Really thought this year they'd build on that, expected them to be having results like OSB / PH.

They've won 4 games - against the bottom 4 teams - but aside from Smithfield, not with great authority.

Also B Grade appear to have dropped off a fraction after being very good in recent years.

Tough spot for Flinders Uni though, lot of clubs nearby and some clubs like Kenilworth and Marion that are quite strong and improving.
