That makes too much sense, something the SA Libs are not known for, although apparently she’s not interested now (on maternity leave) probably biding her time until after the next election mauling.Brodlach wrote:Hurn would have to be next up.

Gardner has some serious baggage apart from the obviousdedja wrote:LOL if they turn to John Gardner, who happens to be my local MP.
Nice enough and decent bloke, but not leadership material. Will be absolutely mauled by Labor, in a similar vein to Alexander Downer when he was the Federal Liberal leader for that very short period.
Vincent Tarzia is a clown who is still dining off defeating Mr X a while back.
Not a ticket that’s going to worry anyone on the Labor side.
The next SA Liberal Premier probably isn’t in parliament yet, and may not even have been born yet either.

He will be the leader until the next election.
They need to preselect some leadership talent now even if it means not preselecting incumbent members, many of whom just simply lack enough CDF..
On the matter of Tom, the reality is he is a clever, competent and cunning politician who the libs have no answer for. They would kill to have someone with his nous in the party.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape
Funny how this happens the day after Downer writes a piece in the local fish wrap, bemoaning factionalism in the SA Libs, but isn’t that what he and the Poodle (amongst others) engage in every day in the background.

Mali 3 terms - Yes. SA Libs are a complete basket case with 0 leadership potential.
Gardiner, Tarzia, oh dear.
Will ramping improve - No.
More beds, more hospital capacity, which means more doctors, more nurses, more $$$$ to health.
Good luck with that. More chance of a Tarzia lead Liberals winning the next election than health getting fixed.

To be fair, the party that hobbled health in the first place isn’t going to turn around and fix it are they?stan wrote:Nah, this is easy.DOC wrote:One of the best yes and no questions asked.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Does this cement Mali for a min of 3 terms?

With such a useless rabble in opposition Labor have carte blanche for the next 2-3 terms at a minimum.
As much as I don’t like these Libs every government needs a strong opposition

Mali - If Labor gets voted back in at the next election, the pressure is off them to fix ramping.stan wrote:Nah, this is easy.DOC wrote:One of the best yes and no questions asked.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Does this cement Mali for a min of 3 terms?

The big investment in the ambulance service was a thank you for the union spending $400k on a disingenuous, but effective, political campaign. The ambulance service was given 350+ more employees by the Liberal Govt yet they still potted them.
Their current bleatings can get fugged. https://www.indaily.com.au/news/2024/08 ... ing-record
The problem with the governments current fix is that - if the sprinkler at the end of the hose is turned off, there's no use pumping more water into it.
There is only one way to fix ramping but neither side will do it. It would be like getting rid of the car race

So the little bloke threw the toys out the cot cause he can't be f*cked anymore?
Going well when the "leader" rolls over belly up. They are pathetic.

I actually don’t blame him, there’s only so many stab wounds in the back that anyone can take. That said, he was extremely naive to think that he could reverse 2 generations of disfunction and internal fighting between the rival factions.
The classic definition of stupidity … doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
The sad reality is that it almost doesn’t matter how good or bad the Labor government is, the electorate don’t want to give the rabble on the other side a chance to go anywhere near power.
