Local SA footy’s top 25 goalkickers of 2024 so far revealed
25. PATRICK O’DEA (Marion) – 23 goals An important part of Marion’s strong run in division six last season, O’Dea has picked back up from where he left off in 2024.
Mobile for a key forward and able to create goals for himself or others.
If he's a key forward, I am Aaron Sandlilands sized.
If you're going to completely make it up, at least make it believable...
Hahaha, if he’s a key forward then I should make a comeback. I’ve got 1cm on him in height and 40 kilos on him in weight, and I was a ‘rover’ in the old terms of footy.
Well, going by old mate's "journalistic" skills, you'd probably be 1st ruck these days

To be fair, he has played full forward against us the previous 2 years
With all the pre season hype around Pulteney you’d have to say they have massively under achieved after the first 9 rounds. Their next two should be wins but they would need to find something just to play finals. CLG doing very well undefeated and Mitcham going nicely in 2nd spot. The two Div 6 grand finalists are 3rd and 4th which to be honest surprises me , but they’re building clubs. The top 4 should be there when the whips are cracking but Portland could shape the 5, their best team is pretty potent but any injuries hurt them. Should be a good second half of the season.
What are you guys on about. Once the season is done it’s done. Next season starts afresh unless any sanction specifically carries over to next season which I doubt it would in this case. As the boss said, they will have an amended affiliation agreement next year which will likely mean they are on a knife’s edge with losing points again for any reports but I’m sure they will take their place in D6 commencing with 0 points like the other 9 clubs.

I was just asking the question, I didn't know the answer. Thanks for answering.

In fairness the same result’s going to occur whether they play the year out or not. WC have done some serious yo-yoing between divisions in recent years. It will be interesting to see how they recover.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?
We used Fawk Reserve for some junior trials back in March and West Croydon were terrific to deal with and put on a great day with BBQ and canteen etc. They clearly have some decent people behind the scenes so hopefully they can get back on track for 2025.
Mitcham only have to win on Saturday to take top spot CLG will not be barracking for Mitcham, they'll hope that Woody South knock them off.
Woody South often find themselves in this position in round 18. They need to win to keep 5th position and if they don't, they better hope Pulteney doesn't knock of Marion.
If Marion does lose, it's going to take a hell of a huge win by Greenacres to knock them out of 3rd position. My mathematical skills are shocking so perhaps someone can calculate how much they'd need to flog Blackfriars by to gain the 10% needed to overtake Marion in 3rd
Anyway, can't see it happening.
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit

Marion have scored 353 more points than the Dragons, and had 277 less points kicked against them, so combined margins need to be more than 630 points.
To quote Richie Benaud from the 12th Man: "Not an impossible task, but pretty well f***ing close"
