This game is the first red ball match of the season and is being counted as round 1 of the 2nd XI competition.

Queensland club cricket starts at the beginning of September, and several of those guys have played a dozen or so games to date.

Meanwhile SACA ground staff are trying to work miracles getting turf wickets up and there is an expectation that we play a development team whilst our first choice players are yet to have a hit out in real match conditions. Next everyone would be complaining why they didn't have warm up games when we are bowled out for under a 100 round 1 of the Shield season. Ryan Harris is on a real hiding to nothing here!

Play the strongest side of those that spent the winter at home or the early part of the UK season. Picking a development side is for November when the Shield season is in full swing
How dare you respond with common sense and logic.

Thank you for the insight, it now makes sense...................Go the Backs!!

Today's match NSW v WA is in NSW (Cricket Central) and tomorrow's match is at the Junction Oval, Vic v Tasmania, then SA play WA at Cricket Central on Tuesday.

NSW win by 8 runs

Now you might think the spud did well with 51 but he ran out two partners so another match costing performance from him.

I thought you were harsh on the Jhye one but not the other, but given the equation at the time there was no reason to be so risky if he was striking it and 130+

Did you watch any of the dismissals? I watched Sam Elliott's wickets highlights and then the rest of the dismissals, not sure how much the pitch had to do with most of the dismissals, looked like a day where every player was just nicking it in between some real poor shot selection/bad decisions and picking out fielders.

Handscomb copped a decent ball but the rest of the Vics dismissals were ordinary.
