Re: INS and OUTS 2025
I reckon Port are done with the over 21s. They got Mclennan, paying him a large chunk of the $70k (if not all), cheaper than a rookie spot (or Atkins) and not taking a list spot, to bolster their SANFL side. They may poach some under 21s after the draft. Crows will probably be similar with the idiotic salary increase they've received they can pick up a delisted AFL player for 70k (plus a $30k relocation "bonus", interesting) and bolster their SANFL side. I think the Crows are less likely to take a player from another SANFL side as they're less interested in "rocking" the boat, they know how good they've got it in the SANFL.am Bays wrote:Under the new regulations 4 x SANFL/WAFL/VFL players is $10 K cheaper than a Rookie spot.whufc wrote:My guess would be that they will take 2 higher quality footballers (elite SANFL standard) than say take 4, mid-range role player types.Dogs64 wrote:Yes, I was going to say Kobe Ryan or is he a "monty" to get drafted?wenchbarwer wrote:Waiting for Tom Lewis or Casey Voss to be the next ones to sign now...
They can take 4 but nothing to say they will. They may take less and just pay more to get the couple of players over. They know they don't need too many to be more than competitive. This is all quite "sickening", F%^& the SANFL!
They can effectively have 12 players who have been promised a dream on $130K total vying for 2 rookie spots in June
I can see the Port and Crows using this to save money and create a bit of competition for the MSD, hey if you're good enough will elevate one or two of you....
Remember amongst all the other lies at the time. the Crows said if the reserves vote wasn't unanimous, they wouldn't proceed.

'PAFC don't want any advantages in the SANFL. It would only take away from any achievements we earned.'

Why didn't they announce Parnell at the same time?

Re: INS and OUTS 2025
Until they had to part with $38K to CDFC for Jez McLennan. Seems recruiting established over 21’s out of SANFL clubs is a little expensive….am Bays wrote:Port were into him to be one of their 21yo+ SANFL top ups

"$38K to CDFC" is that what the transfer fee is worth? Is it $2,500 for the U21s?.knowledge wrote:Until they had to part with $38K to CDFC for Jez McLennan. Bassett just said on SEN he's going to Melbourne to coach. Hasn't said which AFL club.DOC wrote:DOC wrote:sib wrote:Not confirmed. Apologiesdedja wrote:e="Douglas Mawson"]And now Freo have gone public: Jade Rawlings will join them as a backline coach.
Back to Bass .. the whole reason he came back to the club at the start of the year was to replace Twig (allegedly)
Bassett has signed with Melbourne
