Krishna is harrying up the batsmen with his pace
No ball speeds showing, but he looks `140 at least

Just saw Harris's dismissal. Reminded me of Shaun Marsh.Jim05 wrote:Likewise Harris.stampy wrote:put the fork in bancroft and look elsewhere ffs...........

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
My perception of Marsh was always a front foot nicker trying to defend or cover/off drive, not so much backfoot like Harris today. That was sort of like slips catching practice you do at training.RB wrote:Just saw Harris's dismissal. Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
If McSweeney is picked in the test does anyone remember how long it’s been since SA had 3 players in the test side?
Maybe back in the 70’s tour of the Windies

Reckon you'll be right, early 70s 2x Chappells and Mallett/Jenner (noting those two rarely played in the same test side if ever).Jim05 wrote:If McSweeney is picked in the test does anyone remember how long it’s been since SA had 3 players in the test side?

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Ernie Jonah Jones
George Giffen
Joe Darling
Clem Hill
Those 4 played in the same Australian team
Might be 5 as Jack Lyons played in that era as well
Joines, Giffen, Hill played in the SANFL as well
That was back in the days when SA were that good they regularly finished top 3 in the Sheffield Shield
1973 West Indies v Oz
G Chappell
I Chappell
Hammond
Jenner
Same team in that test series

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
Mal - I'm assuming that was tongue in cheek because for those playing at home the SS competition commenced in 1892/93 and was only contested by NSW, VIC and SA up to 1926/27. QLD joined that season then followed by WA in 47/48 and TAS in 77/78.

Yep - in the fifth test in the tour of the West Indies in 1984 we had Phillips, Hookes, and Hogg.Jim05 wrote:If McSweeney is picked in the test does anyone remember how long it’s been since SA had 3 players in the test side?
Last time we had four in the test team was the sixth test in the tour of India in 1979 - Hilditch, Darling, Sleep, and Hogg. (No WSC-contracted players were selected for that tour.)

I reckon there would have been a number of cases of four SA players in the 70s.
Bomber Hammond played in the Windies in 1973 with TJ and the Chappells.
