Do they have a heap of injuries or something? Notice their reserves forfeited on the weekend.MoP wrote:A few weeks ago, Pooraka looked like a certainty for a top 3 finish. Now they're battling to avoid relegation, let alone make the finals!
Likely to lose to Woody South this week and only 50/50 to beat Salisbury the following week.

Forfeit in a home game is really concerning. Their Bs is essentially their C grade from previous by the looks.wenchbarwer wrote:Do they have a heap of injuries or something? Full disclosure. I didn't look at the players, just their scores. It's not great.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 5
This division is incredibly tight - at one end you've got sides fighting for top 3.. middle fighting for 4th and 5th spot... but opposite end all still staving off relegation!
WS, PUL, SAL - all one win away from 4th.. also one win away from 10th!
.. in other news, little cheeky of Pulteney trying to claim (-1) player points for an U18 that isn't theirs.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 5
Marion 14-0 (28) Trinity (away) Woodville South (away) Greenacres (home) Portland (away)
Greenacres 9-5 (18) Woodville South (away) Portland (away) Marion (away) Pooraka (home)
Eastern Park 8-6 (16) Gaza (home) Salisbury (away) Pooraka (away) Pulteney (home)
Pooraka 7-7 (14) Portland (away) Pulteney (home) Eastern Park (home) Greenacres (away)
Woodville South 6-8 (12) Greenacres (home) Marion (home) Salisbury (away) Gaza (home)
Pulteney 6-8 (12) Salisbury (home) Pooraka (away) Trinity (home) Eastern Park (away)
Portland 6-8 (12) Pooraka (home) Greenacres (home) Gaza (home) Marion (home)
Salisbury 5-9 (10) Pulteney (away) Eastern Park (home) Woodville South (home) Trinity (away)
Trinity 5-9 (10) Marion (home) Gaza (away) Pulteney (away) Salisbury (home)
Gaza 4-10 (8) Eastern Park (away) Trinity (home) Portland (away) Woodville South (away)
Only certainty is Marion will finish top
Greenacres need to get some players back or Eastern Park could jump them
Pooraka looked the most likely to drop out but a close win on the weekend gives them a little breathing space
Woodville south obviously the form team outside of Marion but have the top 2 teams the next 2 weeks
Portland still with only home games left but play 3 teams above them
changes every week with different results, looks like relegation and battle for 4th/5th could go down to the last round
Medal Tip - Brian Gill (woodville south) Cant kick that many goals from the midfield and not get noticed
Marion v Greenacres GF (providing Greenacres get their full list back) - outside of Marion its availability, you got your best players and the opposition is missing some, anyone is a chance
Greenacres 9-5 (18) Woodville South (away) Portland (away) Marion (away) Pooraka (home)
Eastern Park 8-6 (16) Gaza (home) Salisbury (away) Pooraka (away) Pulteney (home)

The Trinity vs Salisbury game in round 18 is going to hold some importance.

Knowing Gilly, he’s probably got himself picked as the favourite for the medal too

I see Marion had another racial vilification incident against Woody south over the weekend. That's twice this year against them. Not a great look for the club.
At least this time they admitted it happened.

Both on and off apparently. umpire only seen the retaliation and the woody player was reported.

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 5
Interesting round coming up!
Mini Grand Final this week - Trinity OS vs Salisbury.. winner stays in D5, loser relegated. Lots to play for!
Similarly for 4th and 5th spot - Pulteney, Woody Sth, Pooraka and Portland all trying to squeeze into two spots... and given Pulteney and Pooraka have EP and Greenies, results could also impact who gets the home final!
You'd have to think Woody Sth in the box seat to beat Gaza - although Gaza must be one of the unluckiest clubs to be relegated, they've lost 6 games by less than 10pts!
Pulteney underdogs against Eastern Park, they'll be scared of travelling that far North and of the arm sleeve tats.. but their superior percentage should keep them ahead of the pack
Marion obvious favs over Portland.
That just leaves Pooraka to possibly sneak in.

Tight game between Greenacres and Marion at HT… Marion pulled away second half.
Can anyone work them out..?

Was one of Marion’s weaker sides on paper this week. From what I’ve seen of them, they move the ball from one end of the ground to the other faster than any other team this season.Hack wrote:Tight game between Greenacres and Marion at HT… Marion pulled away second half.

Its Marion's to lose as far as I've seen. Their ball movement is fast and they play on at all costs, they don't rely on just a few either.
Teams can start by finding a way to shut down the midfield and tagging Zac Angel off half back!

Height wont matter on a dry, sunny Spring day on a big ground where they can utilise their leg speed and ball use.wenchbarwer wrote:Crapped the bed in the D6 GF in 2023, prelim in D5 last year.
