Below is a copy of my post in the Div 7 thread, just for Div 4's info as far at the Roys are concerned.
"Things are looking on the up at Glenunga thats for sure.
With these varied comments about ex Fitzroy players though, I'll give the facts.
For the moment there are 2 players (Bourke and another) that played Fitzroy A's last year that are definately going to Glenunga. Then there are about 4-5 others who have previously played A's at Fitzroy, but not last year, that definately are joining. All of the others that trained post Christmas are in fact returning to Fitzroy. They were all B graders come finals last year. Bourke was just trying to give them the opportunity to play A's but they are happier playing B's with their mates at the Roy's which is understandable.
So in total there are only 2 players that were playing at Fitzroy last year going to Glenunga. But 6-7 Ex Royboys in total."
I've been to a couple of training sessions at Fitzroy. Coach Mitchell seems a good motivator and nice fella. Numbers were good. It may be quiet on the Roys front, but they will be strong, don't worry about that
mitchell will surprise a few of his knockers this year i believe..as his playing days end i think his coaching will improve..very enthusiastic guy who does as much for clubs off the field as he does on the field
Quite impressed with Shayne Mitchell so far- given a few boys some new enthusiasm.

Mitchell is the best coach that I have played under and we are only in pre season but the fitness and drills that he has brought to the club is bringing out the best in alot of guys just like Punk Rooster said.
With all this at the club there is some good vibes with all the players and are all putting in great efforts with getting good fitness in before the season starts.
Breaking news out of Greenies is that we have recruited a powerhouse forward for the upcoming season so all you defenders out there need too bring your 'A' game each week to try to keep him under 8 goals a game ....oh bliss oh joy there is a god And no it is not one of the infamous testicle gang.....
Dont you just love this game
Opinions and bumholes..you either have one or are one IMO

Surely you can supply us with a name if you are that confident that he will kick 8 a game.

WTF
I only promised 5 per game - Jonno has to give the other 3 from his forward pocket (if he can stay away from the tribunal)
Dont laugh to hard Zed. I heard that shane had missed the boat regarding the country club he wanted to move to. Im unaware of his current situation but $ talks. As much it would be sad, it would not be beyond the realms of possibility to see him line up for the Dragons.
8 a game or keeping him on the park for 8 games is the real question though.
All speculation at this point though. A more realistic scenario would be the confirmed signing of Forth back from moonta.

hey BB..i was actually sort of serious but was "lol" at the irony..strange how things happen like that in footy..i reckon the big guy would be right at home up the south end ..near the food van in the pocket

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
Haven Greenies already signed Derek Newchurch ? Forth, Scudds and Newchurch would be too much for any div 4 backline to handle. Just gotta get the footy down there enough and these blokes would kick a winning score most weeks
