Define blockbuster Aerie.

Blockbuster is a manufactured term used by the AFL to make games involving Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon seem relevant in the 21st century.

Gees, imagine the name they'd have to come up with to make a Port game relevant...

Go on, tell me it isn't so. "Collingwood v Carlton" = Blockbuster. Yeah, right.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Can you change the name of the topic please
It has nothing to do with the Eagles west game
Change it to who should get Adelaide oval games and not teams that made the grand final
That way the small number of Eagles or west fans won't post

FFS Mickyj, get over it. If every thread on here stayed on topic it'd be a pretty mundane site.
No one's stopping anyone from talking about the game itself, but the truth of the matter is if that's all that was posted, we wouldn't have got to page 2 yet.

I don't get the obsession with crowds..
If you are so interested in crowds, follow the AFL.
This is the SANFL, people don't care....
Yes that includes Norwood, Power, Glenelg, Sturt!!!!
Look at last years finals series......
All games less than 9000 apart from the GF
And they were double headers LOL

Crowds, popularity, exposure, spectacle, greater sponsorships, more money, healthier clubs.
I don't think all these things are the exclusive domain of the AFL. But we're fighting a losing battle, hence we have discussions like this.
Feel free to discuss your own opinion though. Just because I have an interest in this does not mean you cannot talk about other aspects of ANZAC day footy.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Small crowds= demise of a competition.
I saw one photo of the game, not one supporter in the outer, just empty seats.
Not a great promotion for another game next year.
I think it is done.

Just so I get told off for answering the SMA refused fans entry into the east side of the oval
Excluding the entry gate
Just so you know the SMA decided what areas would have fans
IIRC that's been posted somewhere perhaps a facebook footy page

Look at the South v Glenelg Good Friday Blockbuster this is starting to develop a tradition and I think will continue to grow.

It does appear that advertising of the league seems way down on previous years which I think is a bad move. If anything the SANFL needs to promote the local teams more than ever with the AFL reserves now in the league.

I find it interesting that fans of clubs who haven't made the grand final in some cases since the 1960sor 50s
Can post in a topic re the grand final rematch
And I'm told an online journalist was tweeting this very subject
How come year after year Eagles v Central replay these fans of clubs who weren't good enough to make the GF didn't start complaining back then .
Guess if your sides make a GF like west and the Eagles did we will see them in the replay
If they can't make it why post this rubbish

Mate you need to relax my first sentence said I like having the previous years grand finalists playing on Anzac day.
Secondly I was also stating that promotion of the league as a whole is down wasn't having a crack at West or Eagles.

We will talk about ANZAC day footy on the ANZAC day match thread.
Unfortunately bugger all people turned up this year and I think that's a topic worth discussing.
No my side didn't qualify, I don't see why I'm not entitled to an opinion because of that.

To look on the bright side, it was a slightly bigger crowd than would usually attend West v WWT fixtures.

Hmmm...
Not sure which Club(s) you are referring to?
The following Clubs have all played in Grand Finals THIS Century:
Centrals, North, West, Port, Norwood, Sturt, Glenelg, WWT.
South has not, but their last GF was 1979.
Unless you are referring to the Adelaide Football Club who hasn't played in a SANFL GF since the 1800's?
(Not sure if they even had GFs then?)
Never let the facts spoil a good argument though
