Haha no. Makes me sick even thinking that with some of the staff we have.

Avoided them in the last ten years I was in the public service, the place had been taken over by boring brown noses. They were fun and a much different vibe in the 90s though.
Now being in hospitality its rare as everyone works different times or we finish too late. Adelaide Oval staff quite often catch up at the Strath I think but I usually just head to my local pub.

My wife started a new role in the last six months and we've been to a couple of after work social events with a number of senior staff - nothing formal, just drinks and BBQ/food over at someone's house. They're a good bunch of people (from my perspective as the plus-one), and certainly no brown noses. Several of my wife's colleagues are from overseas, and all seem happy to socialise outside of work which makes them more fun and less boring.

Do you mean official gatherings, or impromptu get togethers?

In any case, I refuse to do either. I like to keep my work life and home life separate.

It really does depend on the individual, but also your work colleagues as people.

Me- I work in a team of about 10, most of whom I regularly catch up with after work hours.

I am also a regular attendee at office christmas dinners. I am a part of the social club at work which runs monthly events such as happy hours, or they might do a movie night, lawn bowls/ten pin bowling etc. I skip the happy hours but the past couple of lawn bowl/ten pin bowling events that have been held have been great fun!

Likewise for me.
I’ve tried it but most people I work with just bitch and moan and groan when you go out with them.

No thanks, I’ve got real friends to drink with.

Why do the big screens inside the Adelaide railway station keep playing Sky News?

Are you saying they've done something illegal and are on the lamb?

They had too many Snags with that plan. The Rissole at the council was too tough to deal with.

Too right. The show-pony Mare at that council is always horsing around.
