I am told the club that has likely spent the most cash this season is ND, for a 13th (of 14) outcome.
SACA need to be given the ability to turn this funding tap off, or demand it be used for development rather than payments.

Heavily discussed throughout the Saturday afternoon and decided not to play fate with the 'Cricket Gods'. Plus, there was an outside chance of an outright win and top spot. A case of be careful what you wish for as we've seen what contriving a result can do at times. Boys were very much of the opinion to play anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Yep, pretty fair call. If the cricket gods were in play we would have got the 9mls of rain they predicted and would have been out of WT control. At least getting to 3rd helps if they do make GF and Kensy win also (which I think they will over Pom less Sturt).

Was more thinking the footy clubs wanting their oval to be able to train properly. Been locked in for Woodville now anyway.

In the 16 & 18's Glenelg are playing WWT at Richmond Oval this Sat, been scheduled in for a while so Im guessing both clubs still have access to their oval for cricket.

Who do people like in the semi finals?

TTG vs West Torrens at Pertaringa
Tim Oakley's opening spell vs the WT top order perhaps decides the game. Don't think the Gullies have the wicket taking weapons if the Eagles get through the new ball.

Sturt vs Kensington at Price Memorial
Kensington's batting has been struggling lately. Shield final changes their line up quite a bit. Sturt full strength. I think Kelly, Kelly, Harvey, Davis will be too strong.

Agree, think Kensy team looks weak on paper, but they do have the history to cause upsets and Sturt been known to choke, have not won a trophy for a long time. TTG batting strong and WT bowling not as strong without injured Ruether and no spinner. TTG and Sturt for me too.

Is there a certain amount of overs that the 1st innings batting team have to declare or can they just bat for 2 days? This rule seems to change from season to season, but from memory, it was 120 overs a few seasons ago?

You can only bat on for 10 overs the next day, gives a total of 100 overs max, and the other team then gets 78 overs. Been a good change and gives both teams chance to win.

Manenti would have to be a chance for the Bradman Medal, and possibly a Redbacks contract for next season? Credit to Walshaw for sticking with him to give WT something to defend.

A different story in the other game with Kensington dictating play, declaring and getting a handy wicket before stumps.

Woodville a comfortable 1st innings win on day 1 against SACA U19.

Definitely compulsory declarations as explained above. Example WT vs ST in final round.

Will post my phantom Bradman predictions next week, but have Manenti coming second on 21 votes behind runaway winner Brad Davis on 26.
