I'm making an entry this year too. Currently am 76kg, but am only 170cm tall, and a lot of the weight is gathering around my stomach, so really need to lose it.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

im 24, around 6 foot and pushing 100kg

aim is to lose 15 before my trip early august, really want to do it and need motivation from others

Gidday roo. I'm a lot older than you but my advice is start smaller but exercise regularly. Go with achievable goals and then build on them. I'm not sure I'd be starting with a 20k bike ride but maybe 20 years ago I would have ;) . By implementing a system of achievable goals you'll soon find out that motivation can come from within.

Cautionary tale:

Saw a former Biggest Loser contestant the other day.

Garry from series three. Started at 6'7 and 206kilos. Monster.

Dropped 70+ kilos on the show.

Stacked it ALL back on.

And then some...

Didn't Wal from season one do the same thing? It's a real battle for the really big folks, it ain't easy. The trainers keep saying it though, it's a lifestyle change, not just a once off and it's gone forever type of thing. No Gary No!

That's even more dangerous than just staying obese.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I see this year they've introduced a cooking class every week to educate contestants about healthy eating.

Of course, the benevolent producers are doing this to help the contestants turn their lives around for good.

Has absolutely nothing to do with feeding off the MasterChef phenomena to boost ratings...

The whole Biggest Loser concept is dangerous. The training load applied on those people looks far too much too soon. I've never had a personal trainer but I find it hard to believe that they would smash an massively obese person they way they do on the show.

Do you really need to chuck your guts up to train effectively? No wonder some of these guys are going back to old habits like a nice comfortable coat.
